A major Cloudflare outage today caused websites and apps across the world to go down including platforms like X, ChatGPT, Spotify, Canva, Perplexity and more.

Users everywhere started seeing error pages, failed logins, and “try again later” messages.

So what exactly happened?
Cloudflare is one of the world’s biggest internet infrastructure providers. Simply put, they act like a secure highway that helps websites load fast, stay online, and stay protected from attacks.

When Cloudflare has an issue…any platform using their services can instantly feel the impact.

Today’s outage was due to an internal Cloudflare error, which affected traffic routing globally, slowing down or breaking access to thousands of websites at once. The issue has been identified, and services are gradually coming back online.

This is a reminder of how much of the internet depends on just a few infrastructure providers! and how one glitch can ripple across the entire digital world.
