⚠️ Heat Advisory in Effect ⚠️
The US National Weather Service Houston-Galveston Texas is warning that dangerous heat is returning, with heat index values expected to reach 107°F–114°F today and continue through the weekend. A Heat Advisory is in effect as hot temperatures combine with high humidity across the region.
With little overnight relief and prolonged exposure increasing the risk of heat-related illness, residents are encouraged to take extra precautions:
☀️ Stay hydrated — Drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
☀️ Limit outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. when possible.
☀️ Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and use sunscreen.
☀️ Take frequent breaks in air-conditioned spaces or the shade.
☀️ Check on elderly neighbors, young children, and pets.
☀️ Never leave people or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a short time.
Heat can become dangerous quickly. Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and seek medical attention if symptoms become severe.
