HOT OFF THE PRESS! (new update to GBP and Social media profiles that are linked) it comes with a BUT though

great feature that has a great update now. Now a good reason to (or continue to) keep an active social media presence around your business.

This article also goes over how to add and also help manage your social media profiles that are connected to your GBP.

Why is this important?
your GBP is the big key to grabbing the attention of your local customers and growing your business online.
If you already have a SM presence, update/post frequently this type of activity is only going to help move the needle to get you moving up in the Google Map rankings. (there are many more things to do but every useful bit helps)
Local SEO efforts can be lead to substantially more views and business from the areas you are looking to grow in as well

the BUT though....
The feature for now is only available is for select regions and may not be accessible to all Business Profiles. will definitely want to get more on that as well

so I'm sure we will see more things to come and also learn the true impacts of what this update will do for the profiles but I see this actually being able to help.

One thing I noticed on websites I'm working on but also look over and you gotta ask yourself about yours is...

"Who am I building this for?"

seriously...is it for you? just need something up there? digital business card? testing your own skills and seeing what the big deal is? or you trying to get something up and get it ready to start working for you?

No wrong answer but it still needs to be answered

Not all web builders (or CMS's) are created equal either...

There are really popular easy ones to use and learn that fit a purpose - GoDaddy Website builder, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, and so many more
They can absolutely be set up from the get-go to work for sure... depending on how you answered the question above though. --------𝟏 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 for sure i see is Scalability does become an issue when you make the decision to grow...lots of things about these will impede future growth

I prefer to get everything done in WordPress ( and yes there are some great themes you can use that are Drag & Drop builders and easy to learn that will grow with you).....funny thing is Google OVERWHELMING likes them too - I've got a theory why vs the others I listed above
---Personal favorites are Gutenburg block builder based with either an Astra or Kadence theme - light, fast, customizable and easy to use

If you code obviously that has HUGE advantages too but most people cant/dont want to learn that...again though really cool to see some of those

So again when it comes time to get a website built, rebuilt or even changed think about "𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫?"

Once you know then ask....how do I set it up, or where can I learn, or who do I know that does this?
I know budgets can be a factor as well I'm not oblivious to that so that will usually dictate what next steps look like as well....but so easy to find help I will say

~~Quick Google business profile update, definitely not too late to add~~

Holidays are gonna be crazy this week but I know you probably be getting emails about are you open or what are your hours or anything revolving around your business from Google enter your profile

If you’ve already answered, or addressed them, meaning, you indicated your holiday hours on your dashboard, this message isn’t for you lol

But if you like a dude and shopping and you’re waiting till today or tomorrow, good news, is you still have time!

Go in, make your changes and also if you have any holiday specials going on ADD THEM…..

Working over the holidays and doing any kind of change outs, remodeling, or working on something …. Take pics and/or video…then ADD THEM

Just get that activity up and start to move the needle on some thing that can have a serious impact, and a very positive way, for your business moving into 2024

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜'𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

the past year has been fun and has its peaks and valleys for sure....i will say though after advising/working closely with several small business owners, I’ve noticed my most successful clients have a few key qualities in common. yes theres tons to choose from...that being said though These are the top 3 traits that set them apart:

𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒕𝒉 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒔𝒆𝒕 - They are eager to learn, open to testing new ideas, and focused on constant improvement. They understand marketing takes time to optimize, and they persist knowing their efforts will compound.

𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆 𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 - They put their customers and employees first. They build strong relationships, deliver an exceptional experience, and know that happy people are the heart of a thriving business.
They also value networking and connections that can support their business.
--part B of this to is the value of networks and other people they connect with. yes it helps build the there business across a lot of depts but its the ability to connect others with those they have grown to know, like and trust. plus they do love to see others grow too!

𝑬𝒎𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝑺𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒔 - Early on is best but #1 shows that even if this happens later, they adapt and implement processes and organization to create efficiency, leverage, and consistency as they scale up....and scaling up is usually a what most are shooting for

I genuinely enjoy getting to know business owners and learning what's most important to them. Having been raised by parents who were/are entrepreneurs as well....It's incredibly fulfilling to help local owners achieve their dreams.

Google and the Verification of profiles is making me rip my hair out...whats left of it

Big Reminder to check to make sure your profile is actually verified.

should see a blue check when you're in the dashboard...if not then you'll see a Red Shield.

not being verifed could stop you from being seen on maps. Google has said that posting and responding to reviews could be affected as well but Ive never seen it where you cant respond to reviews.

GO check your out and make sure!

Its also one the best FREE places to help you get more business and only needs a few minutes a day or couple hours a week of love as well.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐯𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬

not so much a VS situation but understanding that they are tied together...but pain points are often mistaken for the actual problem

easy example I hear a lot around HVAC and home services client calls are -
I need better or more "leads" (topic we go deeper into as well) - valid issue and easily seen as a problem . I need leads -> more leads -> more 💸💸 --- I get it

Deeper look though shows that the Problem is more aligned to an 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 and/or the lack of or non-existence of a system in place to bring in and follow up with consistent business.. both can be fixed for sure!

That being said, I am still learning to separate the 2 and dive deeper with people/clients/potential clients all the time (continuous learning is always required!)

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻?
It takes more work upfront, I won't lie. You'll have to ask more (good) questions, listen more intently, and think critically about root causes. (oh and go back and re-analyze your calls to see where you got it and may have missed something)

Once you understand the CORE of why they struggle, you can create solutions (potentially) that truly transform their business. 🙌 This builds immense trust and appreciation for your service!

So next time you meet with a client, challenge yourself! 💪 Resist the temptation for quick wins and put in the effort to get to the center of their problems. Your solutions will be stickier and your clients will thank you for it!
