Birmingham soon dedicated himself fully to acting, studying under renowned coaches Larry Moss and Charles Conrad. There is much to be said of small things. Even in this age of emphasis on bigness we must realize that bigness is only a mass of small things. An idea is a small thing. With it we can change our world. We can take a tiny seed and give it careful attention and reap a hundred fold. We can take a little idea and give it our attention and build it into a fortune. A smile is a small thing. Smile once at someone in passing and three will return the smile. Smiling is so contagious that it moves from person to person until a hundred smiling faces are the result of one. A thought is a small thing. One thought inspires another and another until a mental image is formed. From that mental image blueprints are drawn. And from those blueprints worlds are built. Hope is a small thing. Most anything has some distortion. Living today is a little like standing in front of a trick mirror that stretches the legs to the size of sticks and puts kneed where ankles should be. What is real? Even nature affords some illusion. Arid desert has mirages of water standing in pools. It looks real, but approach it and it disappears. We must be aware of illusion - of distortion, because some businesses practice it. When our own eyes squint against truth we are creating distortion. If we can't trust ourselves to recognize the truth, who can we trust? ~ I could cheerfully hope that those of another age and generation may not feel the effects of those oppressive measures. ~

Those who revel in working the world of the Internet and e-mail have believed they deleted certain things they sent out - but the words were deleted only on the surface. These things can be retrieved and often are. Indians have always known this to be true - that if you send out any kind of word, it is frozen there in the ethers, forever preserved. Silence is truly golden - though most of us discovered it after too many things had been spoken. But if our remorse is genuine and we ask to be forgiven, those words can become useless and irretrievable. It is important that we remove the power of past words and replace them with thanksgiving. ~ The first peace....is that which comes within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its Powers. ~

The direction of our live is more dependent on our own thoughts and words that on what the government does and how it affects the economy. Yes, we do live in the system, but that doesn't mean we have to get down and struggle for every dollar nor fret about who will take care of us. There's no less money in the world than there has ever been, but by design we have developed a very negative view that if everybody else is having a struggle, then we must struggle too It is buying into the same club that says age means sickness. No, it doesn't. Many older people are not sick at all, because they never planned to be. What are our plans? It pays to know. ~ Indians living close to nature and nature's ruler are not living in darkness. ~
