Last couple of days I stayed at the South Abutment Campground at Arkabutla Lake in northeast MS. It is a USACE (Corp or Engineers) campground with 81 sites (with more at the other campground on the north side of the dam). I was lakeside with a beautiful view of the sunrise each morning. Temps were a bit chilly in the morning (mid 40's) with highs around 80*.

Some (if not all) of the sites at the south abutment campground are full-hookup; and most are shaded by tall trees.

Off to my next location this morning... going to mine for diamonds at my next stop! Can you guess where that is?

Welp things I learned today:

1) I talk too much to "strangers" - to the point that by the end of the conversation we are new friends... LOL!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
2) all that talking gets me "behind" in making my way from one place to the other in the park, and I get behind schedule on my planned itinerary...
3) Yellowstone NP is HUGE!!!! I under estimated the time for driving and allowing time for all the site-seeing.
4) Do not rely on Google Maps on my phone when there is basically non-exsistent cell service (T-Mobile y'all are "liars, liars, pants on fires!! - your coverage SUCKS!! while the other major services have coverage; you do not!!)
5) It is really easy to get lost in the dark when you talk to much to strangers, resulting in sunset/dusk driving on winding roads through the park.

The good news is I made it back to my campground (at 9:30 p.m. ...) safe and sound - and wired from the end-of-day drive.

Looking for suggestions!

I'll be in Crested Butte, Colorado this weekend, visiting friends. I tend to be a "fly by the seat of my pants" type of planner.... and haven't planned my next destination after that (LOL!!!)

So, give me some ideas - where in Colorado should I head to after Crested Butte? It doesn't have to be close by, I can figure out a route and then make some stops along the way. 🚠⚓️🗻🏗⛰⛰🚐🚐🚐
