At Thelander Designs, every machine embroidery piece is created with heart, artistry, and over 35 years of experience in the world of design. My journey began where my roots are—in Nebraska—where I grew up surrounded by wide skies, nature’s quiet rhythms, and a deep love for creating. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska, and that foundation in art continues to shape e

verything I do. Inspiration comes from everywhere: the soft curve of a petal, the swirl of wind, the joy in a simple, playful shape. I begin each design with a sketch—loose, intuitive, full of movement—and then bring it to life through a thoughtful, hands-on process. It's about blending casual charm with artistic depth, creating embroidery that’s both fun and elegant, swirly and structured, heartfelt and expressive. Seeing my designs out in the world—stitched on keepsakes, gifts, clothes, and everyday things that become a little more beautiful because of that extra touch. It means so much to know that Thelander Designs can be part of someone’s creative journey, bringing color, personality, and a little stitched joy into their lives.
