Have you heard how dreadful the neighbors are these days to ignore another's plight, and how the world has gone to the dogs because people don't care? Have you heard how hardened hearts are and how callous and unfeeling the human race has become? It may be true such things do happen....for we hear about it daily. But it likely is that we hear more about the unusual. For have you heard about the builder who laid his own plans aside to help another build his house....and the lady who gave her home and nursing care to someone who had no other place to go. Or the child who found its needs fulfilled in the love of a foster mother. We may ignore, but we can never erase the love of the human race for the human race. The world may abound with sordid happenings; it may revel in senseless activities. But called to help, the greater number will respond without thought of the cost to themselves. Of these things we hear so little. With these we come in contact every day and accept it as the normal pattern of life....which it is....for each unthinking, infantile mind there are two great thoughtful ones. And the second great Commandment still works its wonders in all our lives.

𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗲? Rider Bill Brown, dressed oddly, was fanning the horse with his hat for better bucking, 1918 or a bit earlier. Chutes were not yet in use, and the bucking began when the man at the far right had removed the horse's veil. The other two men had helped restrain the horse. The rider was using a western roping saddle with horn, and it would not be until 1922 that the hornless bucking saddle was introduced. Does anyone have documentation for when the 10-second and later the 8-second rule were introduced?

Ralph R. Doubleday was a leading rodeo photographer for 40+ years. The postcard was printed on an AZO paper type that was last manufactured in about 1918.

While trying to research the rider, I saw that in 1966 Kathy Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brown, was named Queen of the Glenrock (Wyoming) Rodeo. Was she a descendant of the rider in Doubleday’s photo?

COWBOYS, Guitar, and Camel Ci******es, about 1930 or so. Charles Belden photographed life on the Pitchfork Ranch south of Cody (Wyoming), much like L.A. Huffman had done decades earlier on the unfenced ranges of Eastern Montana. This shot and others from the session appeared in national magazines, and still appear occasionally in books and articles.

Belden was a master of composition, light, and perspective, and this view was marvelously crafted with at least two light sources. Note the Pitchfork brand logo on the chuckwagon. Gil Birmingham is an American actor of Comanche ancestry, best known for his portrayal of Billy Black in the The Twilight Saga film series.

Birmingham was born in San Antonio, Texas. His family moved frequently during his childhood, due to his father's career in the military. He learned to play the guitar at an early age and considers music his "first love". After obtaining a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California, he worked as a petrochemical engineer before becoming an actor. In the early 1980s, a talent scout spotted Birmingham at a local gym, where he had been bodybuilding and entering bodybuilding contests. This led to his first acting experience, in a music video for Diana Ross, for her 1982 hit song "Muscles". After appearing in Ross' music video, Birmingham began to pursue acting as his primary career. He studied acting with Larry Moss and Charles Conrad. In 1986, Birmingham made his television debut on an episode of the series Riptide. By 2002, he had a recurring role as the character Oz in the medical drama Body & Soul, starring Peter Strauss. In 2005, he was cast as the older Dogstar in the Steven Spielberg six-part miniseries Into the West. He recently played a Texas ranger a ranger, in Hell or High Water, opposite Jeff Bridges.

On rare occasions you may have felt a word drop into your heart that you knew meant something because it never faded and always stood as a reminder that something profound happened. 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞, whose real name is Geswanouth Slahoot, was a Canadian actor, poet, and writer of Indigenous descent. He was born on July 24, 1899, belonging to the Tsleil-Waututh (Salish) tribe, in a settlement near North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He became widely known for his acting career, especially in films portraying Indigenous characters.

Danny Trejo, born on May 16, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, is a renowned American actor (of Mexican descent) known for his distinctive appearance and frequent roles as a villain in many action and crime films.
