Never, never, forget that you are a spiritual person. Don't deny it, because if you were not spiritual you would not be alive. The real of you is spirit and you live in a covering which is your body. Your body needs a lot of blessing for it is temporal and your spirit is forever. Sometimes you sit quietly and daydream -- but at night your spirit takes flight into night visions while your body rests. Sometimes dreams are simply because you ate too much of the wrong things but most times your dreams are there to teach you new things. Listen to what a dream is saying, and identify what is there for your specific purpose. They may work on erasing a hurt that you have carried too long. You are not supposed to hurt your whole life. Color can explain many things in a dream. Dark colors explain dark events and crystal water is Spirit. You are more than skin-deep. You are more than just a human person. Never ignore that inner spirit of you. It knows more than you think it does and it wants always to help.

Q: Did they really BOMB Miles City during WW II?

A: Yes, and it’s an amazing tale. Miles City (Montana) was the site of the ONLY domestic bombing mission ordered by the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. On March 21, 1944, a huge Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress flew from Rapid City (South Dakota) to break an ice jam on the Yellowstone River. Approximately 500 people had been displaced by flooding, and boats had been used to rescue some marooned families. The road north toward Jordan could not be reached, and water levels were rising. Leighton Keye, Miles City Mayor and owner of the Olive Hotel, had convinced Governor Sam Ford to call the Army for help.

The day before the B-17 dropped bombs, local pilots Leighton “Brud” Foster (Foster Drugs), Fred Cook (Cook Signs), and Ted Filbrandt (one account listed Maurice Smith of Smith’s Bootery instead) had flown their small Piper Cubs to drop 12 homemade bombs made from 1,500 pounds of dynamite. Their homemade bombs exploded on the surface of the ice and had little effect.

On its first run, the B-17 Flying Fortress dropped one 250-pound bomb just downstream from the 7th Street Bridge that crossed the Yellowstone River. The next two runs dropped six bombs each, bringing the total to 13 bombs, 3,250 pounds of explosives.

The bombs were configured with a 10-second delay to explode underwater. The hundreds of spectators heard loud whooshes rather than bangs. There were, however, impressive tornado-like spirals of mud, water, and ice that peaked at about 150 feet high! The bombing mission succeeded, and water levels fell about 10 feet during the next 24 hours. The event was broadcast live from atop Garfield School by Ian Elliot on radio station KRJF, 1340 AM. Listeners some miles away heard the whooshes on the radio first, followed by the airborne soundwaves.

The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress had a wingspan of 104 feet. The plane had a crew of 10 that day, including the bombardier. Top speed for a B-17 was about 300 mph. One Miles City resident, reportedly aerial sprayer Lyman Choate, helped direct the pilot.

WHAT WELL-DRESSED COWBOYS were wearing, about 1910, and not later than 1915. Renowned photographer Evelyn Cameron and her husband Ewen were visiting the Irvine and Adams Ranch near Terry in Eastern Montana. Each gent had unique neckwear and footwear. Lance Irvine (center) was holding a cat, helpful in controlling the rodent population.

HATTIE TOM, Chiricahua Apache, 1898. The 1898 Indian Congress (the historically accurate name for the event) was held with the Trans-Mississippi International Exposition at Omaha, Nebraska. Frank A. Rinehart captured 500+ portraits on 8x10 inch glass-plate negatives in a studio on Expo grounds.

The Rinehart portraits were dignified, and avoided the exaggerated poses sometimes used at the time. The short, young woman was in the White man’s studio for perhaps an hour, posing for several shots. Research and digital restoration of photo by Gary Coffrin.

FEMALE HOMESTEADER Cap Barker posed with an S&W revolver and a heavy corduroy skirt during a cool spring day in Eastern Montana, 1912 or so. Bill Foght, holding a bolt-action Ma**er carbine, had worked for the XIT operations in Montana for several years.

Gil Birmingham is an American actor of Comanche ancestry, best known for his portrayal of Billy Black in the The Twilight Saga film series.

Birmingham was born in San Antonio, Texas. His family moved frequently during his childhood, due to his father's career in the military. He learned to play the guitar at an early age and considers music his "first love". After obtaining a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California, he worked as a petrochemical engineer before becoming an actor. In the early 1980s, a talent scout spotted Birmingham at a local gym, where he had been bodybuilding and entering bodybuilding contests. This led to his first acting experience, in a music video for Diana Ross, for her 1982 hit song "Muscles". After appearing in Ross' music video, Birmingham began to pursue acting as his primary career. He studied acting with Larry Moss and Charles Conrad. In 1986, Birmingham made his television debut on an episode of the series Riptide. By 2002, he had a recurring role as the character Oz in the medical drama Body & Soul, starring Peter Strauss. In 2005, he was cast as the older Dogstar in the Steven Spielberg six-part miniseries Into the West. He recently played a Texas ranger a ranger, in Hell or High Water, opposite Jeff Bridges.

Guilt imagines that every eye and every mind judges. But guilt can be false - a thing of the conscience that becomes so real it rules our common sense. We are aware that all guilt is not false - but for most people the fear of someone thinking we are guilty is reason enough. What we do not realize is that it is our own thinking, our own emotion and fear that keep us weaving and dodging. A person trying to lose a few pounds feels guilty if someone see him eating. A prudent spender feels the weight of spending a dollar - and so goes the guilt which is not guilt at all but fear. From one fear comes a thousand things to get rid of - and false guilt should be the first. ~ Will you sit idly by, supinely awaiting complete and abject submission, or will you die fighting? ~

SWALLOW BIRD was photographed by Edward S. Curtis in 1905. Swallow Bird’s studded hatchet handle was partially visible. His pompadour comb-back was colored with clay powder and fat. The Crow (called Apsaroke in earlier literature) identified themselves as Apsáalooke, Children of the Large Beaked Bird. PC users can click image to enlarge/clarify.

The portrait appeared in Volume 4 of Curtis’s monumental 20-volume “The North American Indian.” Curtis and his crew spent the winter at the Crow Indian Reservation, about an hour's drive southeast of Billings, Montana.
