Born June 22, 1952, on the Six Nations Reserve in Ohsweken, Ontario, Mr. Greene is a 73 year old FIRST NATIONS Canadian actor who belongs to the ONEIDA tribe. He has worked on stage, in film, and in TV productions in Canada, the U.K., and the U.S.

He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his 1990 performance in "Dances with Wolves". Other films you may have seen him in include Thunderheart, Maverick, Die Hard with a Vengeance, the Green Mile, and Wind River. Graham Greene graduated from the Centre for Indigenous Theatre in 1974 & immediately began performing in professional theatre in Toronto and England, while also working as an audio technician for area rock bands. His TV debut was in 1979 and his screen debut in 1983. His acting career has now spanned over 4 decades & he remains as busy as ever. In addition to the Academy Award nomination for Dance with Wolves, he has been consistently recognized for his work, and also received nominations in 1994, 2000, 2004, 2006, and 2016. Graham Greene lives in Toronto, Canada, married since 1994, and has 1 adult daughter.

BRAVE WOLF, left, 1901, fought Major Reno at the Battle of the Little Big Horn (LBH) in 1876, while four miles away Custer met his demise. Brave Wolf surrendered with Two Moon's band of Northern Cheyenne in 1877, and then scouted for Col. Nelson Miles at Fort Keogh in Eastern Montana. After Corn Woman, his wife and sister of Chief Crazy Head, left him in 1866, he chose to live as a Contrary Warrior (Hohnรณhkao'o) for several years. He reportedly could not associate with others as an equal, lived alone and apart, slept without a bed. Corn Woman returned in about 1879, and remained until Brave Wolfโ€™s death in 1910.

SEEINโ€™ SANTA was perhaps Charlie Russellโ€™s most jovial work. The horse has been startled. You can see the shocked rider's exhalation into the cold air ... and the liquor bottle in his right pocket. Russell knew cold winters, having worked as a trapper and later as a cowhand in Montana starting in the 1880s.

SPANNING THE YELLOWSTONE RIVER. The Fort Keogh wagon bridge was built in 1902 north of the fort, which was adjacent to Miles City, Montana. Previously, the nearest bridge was 70 miles (113 km) downstream at Glendive! During some months of winter, you could cross on ice. During periods of low flow, you could ford the river at select points. During the weeks of the June rise, you could cross only by ferry.

The bridge was destroyed by ice and flooding in 2011. If you crossed a similar wagon bridge, you may remember waiting for an approaching car to finish crossing before you could enter. The thick planks would make a loud thumping sound as your car crossed โ€ฆ NOT a reassuring sound to my ears.
