This past weekend we filmed Part 2 of interviews documenting the history, story, and traditions of Black churches in East Austin and the Legacy of Jacob Fontaine, which officially concluded the production of the Block 101 Project!

We appreciated all of the stories and perspectives from church pastors, stewards, long standing members from each church, and generational relatives!

We like to thank all of the organizations that came together to make this project possible, Michael Mendoza of augzoo ®️ for entrusting Amaz1n Media to help bring your vision to life, Kendra Dobson of Trust Me, Love for thinking of us when it came to executing the production and visuals, and Cameron Belcher for your time, expertise, vision, and drone skills!

Part 1 of this weekend’s video shoot was all about capturing THE STORY.

More specifically, the story of Jacob Fontaine, and his legacy that still lives on today in historically Black churches, such as the First Baptist Church in East Austin.

We appreciate the stories shared by Pastor Danny Thomas and Steward Estella Harper about the history of the church, their traditions, and how Jacob Fontaine’s hand in the organization still impacts the church today.
