May is here!

And the water lilies are in full growth, loving all the rain. Out at Brazos Bend State Park, the alligators are feeling frisky, baying up in the air and releasing gutteral growls behind every thicket πŸ‘€πŸŠ

Best to enjoy it now before the sun truly begins to beat down on us πŸŒ„

April is here! πŸ¦‹

For this month, we celebrate the Queen of the Night! (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) πŸ‘‘πŸŒš

"Colorful wildflowers in bloom welcome the Pink Moon this month. What else will awaken in this season, as the days grow longer and summer looms?"

🌚 the march nightbloom πŸ’«

Eurasian Catchfly has a series of long flowers that each remain open for three nights, to help prevent self-fertilization. It creates a strong floral scent to attract night-flying moths, who pollinate the plants! πŸ¦‹

February has arrived!

This month's night bloom is Night-scented Stock, matthiola longipetala 🌚

Low growing, highly branched, and known for the nice smell it releases in the evenings and through the night!

We just passed Imolc and the snow moon this past Sunday, so hopefully we're now approaching spring. On the 17th, the lunar new year approaches, with the fire horse πŸ”₯🐎πŸ”₯ bringing change, movement, and the breaking of old limitations... so strap in, but be careful not to burn out!

January is here!

Here's our night blooming plant for the month: the chocolate daisy! Fragrant, especially in the early hours, and a frequent attractor of bees and butterflies. By mid morning, the daisy will close up, and or drop their petals in a cycle of death and rebirth. And some native american cultures would burn the dried roots of the plant to treat nervous conditions or inspire courage.

So for January, we all can beware the cold of the Wolf Moon and wait out the cold for warmer days, like a hermit in their cave. Or in our case, wait out the warm weather for colder nights? πŸ˜…

December is upon us! Here's the December snake + carnivorous plant from our 2015 calendar, bog beauties! It would have been nice to share each image as the year went on, but oh well πŸ˜…πŸ€¦

Our 2026 calendar, night bloom, is now sold out as well. We have some limited "bobo" copies left, with registration issues that didn't pass our editioning process. You can puck those up for $25 by contacting us directly!

Also pictured: some Polywog bookmarks, which we'll add to the store in a lil bit. These lil guys were cut down by hand, and may lose their tails and crawl up onto land if you leave em be for too long. 🐸

Last note: we're on extended break this month for rest and research, so the shops are closing on THURSDAY 12/4, and possibly opening for a bit around xmas, but definitely by 1/4/26. You can find our work at some of our stockists like Basket Books & Art, Rising Tide Projects, and We Are 1976, for any last minute holiday items. Thanks!!

In a week, we're releasing a new art zine with and titled THEY'RE OUT THERE!

Special release in conjunction with the opening of the exhibit BLACK WATER, GREEN FRUIT at on Saturday, November 1st. Opening celebration is from 3-5pm!

Spooky occurrences abound this season... car batteries are mysteriously drained, a hyena is spotted in the backwoods of Brazos Bend, a creature haunts the garden hose, and the owls have eyes. Very fitting moods for the upcoming eco horror inspired zine.

If you are not on the newsletter, we have now added the October dispatch to the website / RSS feeds!

We also have a preorder going for our 2026 calendars, which are dedicated to night blooming plants. A love letter to those who work under the cover of darkness 🌚

We expect to finish these in a few weeks, barring any supernatural opposition. πŸ˜…
