🧼 How to Clean a Shark Professional Vacuum
1. Unplug the vacuum
* Always disconnect it from the outlet before cleaning.
2. Empty the dust cup
* Remove the dust cup and empty it into the trash.
* Rinse it with warm water and let it air-dry completely before putting it back.
3. Clean the filters
* Remove the foam/felt filters and rinse them under cool water.
* Gently squeeze out excess water—don’t twist them.
* Let them air-dry for at least 24 hours.
* If your model has a HEPA filter, check its manual before washing it, since some Shark filters have different cleaning instructions.
4. Clean the brushroll
* Remove hair, strings, and debris wrapped around the brushroll.
* Use scissors carefully to cut through stubborn hair.
* Wipe the brushroll and surrounding area with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
5. Check the hose and attachments
* Look inside the hose for clogs.
* Remove any hair, dust, or debris blocking the airflow.
* Wipe attachments with a damp cloth and allow them to dry.
6. Clean the vacuum body
* Wipe the outside with a slightly damp microfiber cloth.
* Don’t pour or spray water directly onto the vacuum.
7. Put everything back
* Make sure every filter is completely dry before reinstalling it.
* Reassemble the vacuum and you’re ready to clean! ✨
Cleaning tip: If your Shark is losing suction, making an unusual sound, or overheating, check the filters, brushroll, hose, and dust cup for clogs first.
