New post: How to Evaluate Manufacturing Marketing Performance Before Spending More on Tactics
Before asking, “What should we do next?” manufacturers may need to answer a more important question:

What is actually holding our marketing back?

My new blog looks at how to evaluate manufacturing marketing performance more objectively, identify weaknesses, and establish priorities before spending more on tactics.

It also discusses two ways to move forward: evaluate the issues yourself or bring in experienced outside help.

The Fractional CMO Engagement Process for Manufacturers, Explained
A Fractional CMO engagement should not begin with random tactics.
For manufacturers, the first step is understanding what is really holding marketing back. Is it the website? Messaging? Content? Lead quality? Sales follow-up? Something else?
My latest blog explains my engagement process and why the 30-Day Acceleration Plan is an important first step before ongoing ex*****on.

Do enough of the right buyers know your manufacturing company?

If not, the problem may not be your logo or tagline. It may be your positioning, website content, and overall marketing strategy.

In my latest blog, I explain why manufacturing branding must go deeper than looking professional.

Why do so many manufacturing leads fail to convert into sales conversations or RFQs? That’s the question I answer in my latest blog.

The problem is rarely one tactic. It is usually the system behind the tactics. Manufacturers need clear definitions for MQLs, SALs, and SQLs, a documented handoff process between Marketing and Sales, and a better way to measure lead quality.

Poor-Quality Leads for Manufacturers is a Big Problem and Its Causes
Poor-quality leads waste time, budget, and sales resources. For manufacturers, more inquiries do not automatically mean better opportunities. The real problem is often deeper—strategy, messaging, buyer intent, and sales-marketing alignment.

I wrote this blog to explain the common causes:

AI search and Google AI Overviews are changing how engineers and technical buyers research suppliers.
That does not reduce the importance of your website. It raises the bar for your content.
In my latest blog, I explain what manufacturers should do now to strengthen their content marketing, product pages, solution pages, and technical website content.

AI can help create websites faster. But fast is not the same as effective.

In industrial markets, your website must do more than look good. It must build trust, communicate technical accuracy, and support long sales cycles.

In my new blog, I explain what AI can do, where it falls short, and why strategy still matters in industrial website design.

Many manufacturing companies invest in marketing tactics—websites, digital ads, SEO, and content marketing—without first developing a clear strategy.

That often leads to inconsistent results and frustration.

In my latest blog, I answer some of the most common questions I hear from industrial leaders about manufacturing marketing strategy, marketing ROI, and the role of a Fractional CMO.

If you're evaluating how marketing can better support growth in your company, this article may provide a useful perspective.
