12 years as an agency. 20 years of experience. And what I'm teaching Thursday still has me super-excited about digital marketing.

I've been head-down, filtering what I know about digital marketing into what actually works now. Has it changed? Heck Yeah! But I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. All the lessons, history, and strategy keep building a stronger foundation.

Reinventing has been my flag in the ground for a long time. The industry keeps moving, reinventing, but I think a bit better each evolution. Seriously, I probably need to get a flag made for "Reinventing Marketing." It just doesn't go out of style.

Thursday, April 16 — I'm sharing to the community: "The AI Brand and Entity Blueprint."

You probably have a Brand Guide. Logo, fonts, marks, probably even tone and taglines. This picks up the next layer, how your brand shows up across channels with the attributes and values that build topical authority in AI and search.

AI and LLMs are changing online search for most industries. I was asked by TravelAge West about how this will change the digital rules for Travel Agents.

AI and answer engines are rewriting the rules they followed for years as more people use AI conversations to plan their own trips.

Answer engines now predict what travelers want it seems like before they even finish typing. They're getting instant answers instead of links from the first page.

For travel agents, this is a stressful time and changes the rules about visibility. But, AI-driven tools are now a competitive advantage. Here are a few of my insights:
- Topical Content that matches searcher intent, not just keywords
- Real-time optimization based on history and previous searches
- Design personalized experiences in your niche that convert browsers into the next client

By encouraging a friend, I found a new level of my own productivity.

A colleague needed a gentle nudge to remind them how effective they are when on their game. I think the term I used was "you are a BadA**. " Reminded them what those results can look like when small accomplishments stack up.

The funny thing is, I put down the phone and redesigned my whole afternoon. I accomplished something in generative AI I had been avoiding for weeks. I realized the same encouragement I gave them was what I needed.

Are you tracking AI-driven traffic to your website? As we see a shift in Search patterns, tracking this traffic grow and even drive key conversion actions is pretty impressive.

We don't have full visibility yet, but gaining an understanding of which pages we have optimized for Entities, NLP, and Schema and how they perform in AI is pretty exciting.

I am pretty sure someone is saying AI isn't Search, and someone else is saying SEO is Dead. But, at we are locked on to how AI search is impacting our clients and helping them grow.

PSA: Figure out who has the keys (to your digital accounts).

This week we helped a client recover access to an account. Nonprofits and small businesses often lose control of their social and web accounts because logins are tied to one person. They may not even realize it until trying to login due to a personnel change-over or starting a new project.

But when that original person leaves—whether an employee, volunteer, or even the owner—access is lost. We see it all the time. 😕

One of the first things we do when working with a nonprofit is help them set up a marketing team email account, not tied to any individual. This means no one person controls the keys to important accounts like domain names, Google Analytics, or social media.

Surprisingly, we see this need all the time with larger corporate clients as well.

High turnover is common, but it shouldn’t lock you out of your own digital assets. Make sure your current team has access, and remove anyone who shouldn’t, including former staff and agencies. Protect your organization the same way you protect the keys to your physical assets.
