From serving presidents, to passing the torch down four generations, to celebrating staff who have been there for decades—they’re truly one of a kind.

Seeing recognized by with the Family Legacy Award—and featured in Southern Living—means even more knowing just how much they’ve poured into this city for over 85 years.

We’ve had the privilege of working alongside the Molina family for two of those decades, witnessing that commitment up close and helping share their story along the way.

We truly don’t know anyone more deserving of this recognition.

People like Marcelino, Leonor, and Mila aren’t just longtime employees. They are the steady presence in the dining room. The memory-keepers and makers. The ones who’ve welcomed generations of families, served presidents and celebrities, and treated every table with the same warmth and pride for decades.

And what makes it even more special is that they’re part of larger teams built on that same commitment. Both Brennan’s and Molina’s are filled with people who have dedicated years — sometimes entire careers — to these restaurants. That kind of continuity creates something you can feel the moment you walk through the door.

Restaurants don’t stand the test of time on food alone. They endure because of people like this.

Yesterday, we were on set with capturing the heart and soul poured into every single day — a true Texas tradition that’s been going strong for more than 50 years.

Led by Randy Hines, with his three oldest boys — John-Matthew, Pio, and Andrew — working right alongside him, the story continues with family in the kitchen and tradition in every batch.

It’s been such a privilege to witness their growth firsthand — especially as they celebrate the opening of their fifth location. From neighborhood staple to multi-location Houston favorite, they’ve stayed rooted in quality, community, and craft.

We also loved seeing their Memorial City neighbors featured, as they team up for this month’s Reuben Kolache special. Their collaboration series beautifully celebrate Houston talent through a beloved Texas pastry 💛

The Austin-born concept known for its “life-giving fast food” has officially expanded to Houston, opening its first location outside of Austin at River Oaks Shopping Center—right here in founder Nelson Monteith’s hometown.

As Nelson shared with Nation's Restaurant News, “It’s so fun to bring a concept that started in Austin to my hometown… I’m happy that the brand we’ve created has made it this far and that I get to share it with the people I grew up with.”
