“Things happen for a reason. Or do they? When other explanations fail, we acknowledge fate. It’s a dodge, to be sure, but one with an auspicious past, one as old as humanity itself. Fate’s lingering power explains its long relevance in the arts—which, after all, have no obligation to rationality or reason.” —Ars Lyrica Houston
In the latest season of Ars Lyrica’s concert series, we aimed to express the moments of chance and their impact on fate; which are all themes prevalent in Greek mythology and the subject of the music.
Each concert montage is centered around symbolism of the featured score and baroque style—highlighting the featured artist as the core to the drama—then paired with typography of its own twists and shifts.
