This morning I was getting a little stressed about the ominous task of packing and moving. I forgot the fact that I have done it multiple times across several states and completed many local moves as well. Glitches happened, but with few exceptions, if you'd ask me what those glitches were today I couldn't tell you. I know I worried a lot as move dates approached, but they happened and I'm still here. This move will eventually be the same, a distant memory.
It's really like that for all uncomfortable things that consume our minds.
If we look back and really dig into the majority of what gave us discomfort, stress, and even fear in the past, most things are faded memories, if memories at all. So many worries that consumed us for an hour, a day, a week or a month were beyond our control and most never even happened. When we stop and think, IF those worries came to fruition, most worked for a beautiful purpose or at worst we survived. Now we've moved on to the triviality of today, but we wasted precious time on things that were unlikely to happen, and were always in His hands. Isn't it funny that we continue to do that, forgetting those past lessons? It takes experience (good and bad,) practice, and work to build that wisdom.
We have the power within our own minds, free will, to decide if we are going to trust or fear. It takes discipline to put our Faith in Him, rather than the latest news headline, the voices that replay things that we read on our devices, or the opinion of some trending influencer telling us how to fix x, y or z in our lives. It takes practice to remember that His Promises from His Word are more powerful than any other thing we will hear today.
Join me today in being thankful for all experiences and in praying for faith and wisdom to remember that worry is futile.
Now, where are the packing bubbles? Do I really need to move this or that? How many boxes of rocks can I take? 🤣🥰
