A gay conservative going by appeared on OAN this week and did something the left won’t be able to argue with: 𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞.
His thesis, in his own words:
“𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘶𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪-𝘨𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘢𝘺, 𝘴𝘦𝘦, 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘨𝘢𝘺 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵. 𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘦 𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦.”
He’s speaking from two decades of direct experience. More than 20 years ago, while still participating in pride events, he watched a bathhouse float move through the crowd with what he described as naked men wrestling on it in public view — with children nearby. He spoke with participants who explained the logic:
“𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦’𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴, 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦, 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘪𝘥𝘦.”
He drew the line that the movement deliberately erases: 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬. The pride community he knew didn’t operate that way. The one he watched emerge did.
“𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘐 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦? 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘺? 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘺. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦. 𝘐 𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘵.”
He watched what followed in the years since:
“𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘨𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵? 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘵.”
The mechanism is worth understanding clearly. The explicit content isn’t incidental to these events — it is the point. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬. Object to a naked man on a float in view of your children, and the accusation follows automatically: homophobic. The content is designed to generate that accusation, not to celebrate identity. A gay man who actually lives a normal life just told you so.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐢𝐭.
