The Smart Cookie Philes is written and run by Chelsea DeVries. She considers herself a bibliophile (lover of books), melophile (lover of music), cynophile (lover of dogs), and a cinephile (lover of movies). She holds a degree in marketing with a minor in International Hospitality and Tourism. In July of 2015, following graduating from college, she struggled to find a job in her field of public rel

ations due to a lack of experience so she ventured out on the one talent she knows she has experience in: writing.This site is an effort to prove that not only does she love books, movies, music, and dogs but she can write about just about anything with a voice all her own. Currently, she is looking for representation for her memoir, and working on a re-write of her first two novels, Dream Girl and Jessica’s Choice. Book review:

"I must be more ladylike...what would be the fun in that?"

Friends to lovers is my favorite type of romance story. Mostly because it makes the most sense. We all want to fall in love with our best friend. Penelope is also my favorite Bridgerton character because she's a writer. Colin is well traveled and a socialite so they are a bit of an unlikely pair but work well together. I keep reading this series for the depth of the characters and the emotional pull of the romance.
