This fall, Mitchell Land & Labor scheduled almost 600 winterization appointments while they slept.

I built AI tools inside Jobber, the software MLL already used. It put together scheduling plans in minutes, scheduled the appointments and sent confirmations automatically, which freed the team to focus on customers, right where people belong.

I'm now helping other business owners figure out where AI could actually fit in their business. You don't need to know what it can do for you before we talk. That's my job.

Website Redesign Case Study: Turning a basic contractor website into a long-term marketing platform

JMS Electrical came to me with an existing website that covered the basics, but the experience felt more like a generic electrical contractor template than an extension of the actual business.

The opportunity went well beyond giving the site a new look. I rebuilt the digital foundation around how customers search, how they make decisions, and how JMS wants to grow.

I started with the business itself: what JMS does, who they serve, where they work, and why customers call them.

That led to a clearer positioning idea:

Power, Solved.

From there, I rebuilt the website around customer intent.

The messaging became more specific to JMS and more useful to the customer, with service-area language and individual pages supporting the services the company wants to be found for.

Organic search was considered throughout the build rather than added as an afterthought. I also structured the content with AI-driven search and discovery in mind.

The team can make everyday updates internally without relying on an agency every time a phone number changes or a photo needs replacing. At the same time, the platform gives them room to expand into email marketing, content, automation, lead management, and other marketing initiatives when they are ready.

And I say this as someone who sees so many ads for marketing courses, blueprints, systems all aimed at making me feel like I’m behind or don’t know what I’m doing. That there is some secret I haven’t figured out yet. That the right advice will cure all of my business problems.

I’ve fallen victim to this more times than I’d like to admit. Mostly at night. When I’m scrolling after a long day of not leaving my desk for more than 3 min to use the ladies. And guess what? They know that too!

Every time I get the “$$ thanks! Download your blueprint here!” And I read it I think “I could have written this myself”

Hire the people who take work off your plate, who solve real problems- not the ones your brain tells you about at midnight.

When I review a website, I’m not looking for colors, fonts, or button styles first.

I’m looking for clues about what a visitor might be thinking.

Most visitors aren’t reading every word. They’re trying to answer a few questions quickly:

• Am I in the right place?
• Do they understand my situation?
• Why should I choose them?
• Can I trust them?

If those answers aren’t easy to find, people often leave before they ever reach the contact form.

This project was a good reminder that website clarity is about helping the right people understand what matters most, faster.
