Barn Quilt Art. You may have noticed a quilt pattern painted on some of the barns or machine sheds in the country. The idea of decorating with this type of art is fairly new, within the last 10 years. The patterns are composed of geometric shapes such as squares, triangles, rectangles, hexagons, octagons and diamonds. The design fills a 1 foot square, 2 foot square, a 4x4 or a 8x8 foot piece of plywood or it can be painted on the barn. My designs are made out of sign vinyl and attached on a sign backing material called cor-plastic. This makes it an outdoor sign. Brilliant colors are used to make it an eye catching attraction.
