Our float, The Colonial Printing ExPress, won 2nd Place at the Mix 96.9 Christmas Parade last night! From planning to creating, We enjoyed participating and seeing all the other creative and festive floats as well as the community who came out to see the parade!

It's ! The Food Bank of North Alabama recuses food that is still good from area grocery stores, collects donations from organizations and community, and distributes about 12 million pounds of food per year! Find out more below and on their website foodbanknorthal.org.

It's ! We know that a lot of people are exploring ways to support organizations that make a difference in their communities today. In that spirit here's what we do:

The Food Bank of North Alabama rescues food that is still good from area grocery stores using a fleet of trucks -- some of which are refrigerated to accept fresh produce, diary, meat and bakery items.

We also collect donations from organizations like the USDA as well as the community and make purchases directly from distributors so we can provide a balanced and healthy selection.

We then inspect, sort and warehouse the food until it's distributed out through our network of over 230 partner organizations, places like food pantries, soup kitchens, women's shelters, homeless shelters and halfway homes.

We distribute about 12 million pounds of food, or 10 million meals, per year!

We also have a variety of programs and initiatives, from helping local farmers to our mobile pantry that gives food directly to people who need it. These programs help us meet the goal of our mission: To feed the hungry today and create solutions to end hunger tomorrow. You can find out more on our website: foodbanknorthal.org
