🌱 New Printing for Change campaign just launched! 🌼

We're so excited to collaborate with local artist and activist Jooyah on this design, benefitting the Community Free Clinic of Huntsville 🏥

This important community resource is volunteer-driven, and provides medical care and supplies to our uninsured neighbors. The nonprofit is entirely privately funded, without government assistance.

Items are available to order through the end of September, and fulfilled on a weekly basis!

Congratulations to GPP Founder Rachel Lackey for being selected as a Women Honoring Women 2026 Honoree by the WEDC Foundation--the first WEDCF Scholar Alumna to receive this honor, and on the 25th anniversary of the event, no less.

We are delighted to celebrate our inspiring honoree, Rachel Lackey! As the founder of Green Pea Press printing studio and a proud WEDC Foundation Scholar Alumna, Rachel's journey is a testament to perseverance. She became a WEDC Foundation Scholar in her final year of college, a pivotal moment that provided the support she needed to triumphantly earn her degree during one of the most challenging times in her life.

In 2011, Rachel launched Green Pea Press at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, marking the beginning of Alabama's first community printmaking studio. Here, she has created an empowering space for fellow artists to access professional equipment, hone their craft, exhibit and sell their work, gain valuable teaching experience, and connect with a vibrant creative community. In recognition of her remarkable contributions, she was named Creative Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019 by The Catalyst Center for Business and Entrepreneurship.

I loved helping to elevate these awards for the Historic Huntsville Foundation by adding a deckled edge to the archival giclée prints.

While a true "deckled edge" is the fibrous edge created by the mould when a sheet of paper is made from pulp (I'm sure there are some really great videos you can look up if you're curious about that process!), you can still get the look with a carefully torn edge on a thick cotton paper.
