A couple of decades ago, I designed and produced these covers for Dan Busby. In recent years, Dan Busby went to heaven. He lived a long and wonderful life. I enjoyed doing graphics projects for Dan. Around 1990 The Navigators magazine, Discipleship Journal, made good use of the Cheltenham Font on their masthead and in some of their magazine’s interior pages. Over the decades, Cheltenham has become one my favorite fonts and I made use of it on some of Dan Busby’s publications.

This vinyl window decal street number project is the brain child of my customer but, he left it up to me to provide design options and visual treatments. My local output vendor, Harlan Graphics, did a good job on the output and install of this vinyl window decal.

I have noticed in recent months that most designers present their concepts with a tablet computer when meeting with an individual client or a committee. This makes sense since I have been having clients sign off on emailed review PDFs for 20+ years. I still like printed proofs, though. The service boroughs used to call them "contract poofs."

In recent months we have been experimenting with QR-codes on business cards. We changed our own business card to have a QR-code that takes you to our Facebook business page. We have also recreated some of our clients' business cards to include a QR-code that takes you to their company web site.

One of my art college colleagues stirred up my memories of working with service bureaus in the 1990s and in 2000. In 2000 I signed up for high-speed internet, for the first time and then, delivering jobs by spinning portable media became a thing of the past.

But, this photo is nostalgic.
