THE ZAMINDAR'S BRIDE
It is my special delight to write this book review of The Zamindar's Bride.
I previously read and reviewed the very exciting Templar Trilogy series, which I also highly recommend. This book was just as exciting. The author, Adriana Girolami, deftly weaves a suspenseful tale of romance, intrigue, and death. The Zamindar's Bride and the Templar Trilogy are both available on Amazon.
The Zamindar of India is supposed to marry the woman defined by the stars when he was just a boy, according to his Hindu religious custom. But the Zamindar has other ideas. He wants to marry for love. He is haunted by his dreams of a beautiful western woman that he is determined to marry. But his scheming and conniving mother, the Dowager Laxmi Devi, is driven to make sure the Zamindar marries the woman chosen by the stars according to his religious heritage. Both are fiercely determined. Who will prevail in the end?
The Zamindar travels to Italy to visit his best friend from college days, Prince Louis Amadeus, Duke of The Abruzzi. During a banquet in his honor, the Zamindar meets the gorgeous Countess Lady Diana De Gautier, the woman who had been haunting his dreams. They fall in love, and after a short whirlwind romance, they marry in the small chapel on the estate of the Countess. They then travel back to India to the home of the Zamindar.
However, their bliss is short-lived. The Zamindar's mother is furious and refuses to accept the marriage as legitimate. She demands that the Zamindar marry according to his religious heritage and to the woman chosen for him.
Tragedy strikes and the Countess returns home, feeling hurt and betrayed by her beloved Zamindar.
Will this be the end? Is the Zamindar destined to live with the pain and loss he has caused? Read this book to see how this story unfolds. Is this the end for these two people from such vastly different cultures and religious backgrounds?
