Besides the 16 marvelous double-page-spread paintings by .illustrator, she made 45 spot illustrations that add context and meaning to the 216 pages of text. In this illustration, my main character, Anni Blum, is home from school, where a N**i officer interrupted English class to show a chart of characteristics of the people who must be arrested and eliminated from the Master Race. That includes gypsies, very dark-skinned people, cripples, and people with big noses and curly black hair. "Will someone call the police when they see my nose and hair?" she asks her parents. Mutti (mama) is worried, but Papa assures her that her nose is fine.

Back to work on getting my "debut" middle-grade fiction book ready by November 1 for holiday gifting. Finalize details of 16 double-page-spread paintings and 45 spot illustrations by the marvelous Caterina Baldi. Make last round of edits. Done! Proofreading. Professionally done! Set up files for 25 digitally printed advance copies. Done! Thank everyone who helped with the process by providing inside information on time and place, mentoring, beta-reading, providing feedback, testimonial blurbs, and much more. Done! Next: Set up files for initial run of 1000 books to be printed offset in Europe. Hardbound copies will have linen spine with gold-stamped title. Paperback version, as shown below, will fake it with photo of fabric. Today's task at hand: change profile of 65 linked images from RGB to CYMK.

Beginning September 18, I will be teaching BUILD A SUCCESSFUL ONLINE BUSINESS through Hudson River Community Education for the third time.
But now I’m opening it up so people — instead of local students gathering around the conference table — can gather and learn on Zoom.

Students have included a fashion designer who upcycles clothing, a sculptor, a florist, a chiropractor, a designer of home goods, a collector of European ceramics, and sellers of African jewelry, handmade scarves, and more. All had business ideas but weren’t sure how to begin. After five class sessions, all were off to a great start.

As you probably know, I’m a designer of materials that help children learn to read, write and spell. I sell them via an Etsy shop (TheAlphagramShop.etsy.com), a Shopify store (alphagram.com), and TheAlphagramStore on Amazon. In this seminar-style class, we will: •Discuss the products or service you want to sell and help you organize, brand, and showcase your offerings to best reach your potential au
dience. •Evaluate the distinctive selling propositions of each online selling platform—features, benefits and costs. •Guide you through developing a marketing plan and budget. •Even help you with your store name and logo. •Consider other essential ways to attract buyers, including in-person presentations, tradeshows, conferences, craft fairs, etc.
