In today’s San Francisco Chronicle, News/Media Alliance President and CEO writes, “Shrinking advertising revenue, declining search traffic, and AI models that scrape and resell content all contribute to relentless economic pressure on publishers. Without additional support, high-quality journalism is at risk, leading to fewer California journalists, fewer local stories and less accountability in the communities that need it most. That support is hopefully coming soon in the form of Assembly Bill 2222, where the legislation takes a straightforward approach: If California wants to preserve local journalism, it should help publishers afford to employ local journalists.” Read the full article at the link in bio.
