The "you need a degree" myth almost killed my dreams.

I remember being told I couldn't succeed in digital marketing without formal education.

That I needed certifications, diplomas, and fancy letters after my name.

But here's what I discovered:
My clients never once asked about my degree.
They cared about results.
They wanted someone who could deliver.
They needed solutions, not credentials.

What actually moved the needle?
💫 Real-world experience
💫Adapting to changes
💫Learning from failures
💫Staying determined
💫Taking action daily

I built HippoKhan from scratch, not because of a degree, but because I showed up, learned constantly, and delivered value.

Want to succeed?

Stop waiting for permission from a piece of paper.

Start doing. Start learning. Start growing.

Need help building your brand? That's what we do at HippoKhan.

Running a digital marketing agency from home can sometimes feel like steering a dinghy through stormy waters.

What does that look like?
-Decisions made on the fly
-Unplanned tasks
-Scattered focus
-Interruptions

I realized that if I wanted to take this agency to the next level, I had to become the captain of my business, and not that passenger on a Carnival cruise vacation.

Making that transition from freelancer to agency owner is easier said than done. But, one thing has become very clear to me… the madness needs a method, and the method is a system.

Here’s the planning system I created to get more done every day:

✅ Planning sessions where I know what I’m doing the next day and the upcoming week(s).
✅ Prioritizing tasks so that the most important ones are done first, and anything that’s left carries over to the next day.
✅ A project management dashboard (I use ClickUp, but any tool works)
✅ Time blocks for work, family, and exercise

The transformation was immediate:
-40% more tasks completed
-Faster workflows
-Higher‑quality deliverables
-More time for learning and upgrading skills
-Lower stress levels

Running an agency is still a journey, but having a system keeps me steering the ship instead of just treading water.

Want a content strategy that consistently drives trust, DMs, and conversions? One that never fails for my founder clients is the social proof post. Here’s my proven system:

1. Direct outreach
At the end of each month, I ask clients:
“Did anyone praise your work recently?”
“Have prospects mentioned our content during sales calls?”
“Are you getting positive DMs?”

These questions uncover powerful testimonials hiding in plain sight.

2. Use screenshots to your advantage
When clients receive glowing feedback through DMs, texts, or emails, I request screenshots. This raw, unfiltered praise builds trust in ways polished testimonials never could.

3. Monitor public feedback
Engagement on posts, comments, and Google Business reviews is a hidden gem that offers great material for posts. I’m always on the lookout for comments that I can repurpose into posts that build both credibility and conversions.

Social proof isn’t just a nice-to-have; it is one of the fastest ways to build credibility and profits for your business.

Which of these steps do you already use in your content strategy?”

Google didn’t kill your traffic. Your lazy marketing did.

🚫 Buying cheap backlinks
🚫 Ignoring technical SEO
🚫 Copy-pasting content from ChatGPT with zero editing
🚫 Publishing generic blogs that your customers don’t care about
🚫 Keyword stuffing like it’s still 2003
🚫 Hitting “publish” with no strategy, no goal, no audience in mind
🚫 Treating SEO as a one-time fix instead of a long-term system

If your traffic dropped, it’s not because SEO is dead—it’s because the strategy was.

The good news? You can turn this around.

This month, I’ve been focused on breaking bad habits and building better ones. Inspired by Atomic Habits (my current read), I’ve been putting some of its strategies into practice and created a simple 3-step process that’s been working for me:

1. Make it obvious
You can’t change what you don’t recognize. I started journaling daily to get clear on which habits were holding me back and which ones I wanted to create. Writing it down made it real and gave me something to work with instead of vague intentions.

2. Make it attractive
This is where habit-stacking comes in. Pair a habit you want to build with something you already like doing. For example, I won’t let myself watch a movie until I’ve done a few sets of mountain climbers. Want to hit the pool? First, I have to finish the work I committed to for the day. It turns the habit into a reward system I actually look forward to.

3. Focus on action, not motion
This is key for me. At some point, you have to stop planning and start doing. It’s easy to stay in analysis-paralysis mode: tweaking to-do lists, taking courses, watching productivity videos on YouTube, all in the name of waiting for the right time. But, there won't ever be a 'right' time. Even the smallest step forward beats standing still. The time will pass anyway, so might as well use it to build momentum.

------
This framework has shifted how I approach personal development. It’s not about relying on willpower or motivation. It’s about designing a system that makes success inevitable.

Are your LinkedIn posts falling flat?

When it comes to building a presence on LinkedIn, posting randomly and hoping for results isn't enough.

I've helped founders transform their LinkedIn presence, and here's what works to build trust and attract leads:

1. Personal Stories that Create Connection
Don't underestimate your journey. Those behind-the-scenes moments and challenges you face? They're exactly what makes people stop scrolling. I've seen my most engaging posts come from sharing raw, honest experiences.

2. Industry Insights that Demonstrate Authority
Position yourself as a thought leader by sharing unique observations. What trends are you noticing first? What truths need to be said? Skip the jargon and speak directly to what your ideal clients are thinking.

3. Educational Content that Delivers Value
Share actionable insights without overwhelming your audience.

Focus on:
✅ Quick, practical frameworks
✅ Step-by-step guides
✅ Myth-busting tips
✅ Real solutions to real problems

4. Engagement-Focused Content that Starts Conversations

Create posts that naturally invite dialogue through:
- Thought-provoking questions
- Compelling viewpoints
- Strategic polls
- Discussion starters

Ready to transform your LinkedIn presence from crickets to conversations in your inbox?

When we started this business four years ago, we had:

– A vision, but no clear roadmap on how to achieve it
– No team
– No industry connections
– It wasn’t the perfect time

But we did make decisions—ones that shaped where we are today:

✅ We showed up, even when impostor syndrome crept in
✅ We posted when it felt awkward or uncomfortable
✅ We continued to pitch even when the answer was no
✅ We kept building, even when results were slow

The result?

✨ More freedom to do what we love
✨ A 10x growth in skills and knowledge
✨ Partnerships with brands, media outlets, and small businesses

Looking back, I realize that our initial circumstances didn't determine our success. It was shaped by every decision to keep going, to learn, to adapt, and to believe in our vision.

We’re not the product of our circumstances.
We’re the product of our decisions.

✨Keep pushing forward and trust the process.

If your inbox is silent, your profile could be saying all the wrong things. Here's how I would fix it:

1. Your headline doesn’t stand out. Don’t just put your founder/co-founder title. Use it to show what you do, who you help, and any achievement you want to highlight.

2. You have no photo at all. I am surprised by the number of business owners on here who have no photo on their profile. Being approachable and professional matters. Also, profiles with photos get 3x more connections on LinkedIn.

3. Your background banner is purely decorative. There is no problem with a beautiful background banner, but why not use it strategically? Highlight your offers or results on it. Feature the logos of past clients. Premium members can even create a slideshow.

4. Your "About" section is only about you. Not to say that it shouldn't be about you.....but you want to show what you can do for your customers. Focus on your audience's problems in this section and how you solve them.

5. You have no clear niche. Speaking to everyone means connecting with no one.

6. You're writing in the third person. Keep it conversational. Use "I" statements to build a connection with people.

7. Your profile lacks social proof. Share client wins, testimonials, and case studies.

8. There's no clear next step. Tell people exactly what action to take: book a call, send a DM, visit your website.

9. Keywords are missing. Make sure your ideal clients can find you in searches.

---->Business owners, treat your profile like a sales page and not a digital resume.
---->Make the right changes, and your inbox won’t stay quiet for long.

If you want your business to show up on Google, don’t just focus on keywords. Instead, ask yourself: “What will make someone trust me enough to hire me?”

Let me explain:

Google prioritizes content created by people with hands-on experience, and it uses a framework called E-E-A-T to decide what ranks:

E-E-A-T stands for:
✅ Experience
✅ Expertise
✅ Authoritativeness
✅ Trustworthiness

So, to get your brand to show up on Google and AI means you have to show that you’re the expert and have the chops to get the job done.

For instance:
-Hairstylist? Show behind-the-scenes clips of your cuts, color, and styling techniques.
- Realtor? Share client wins and explain the buying/selling process.
-Mobile notary? Break down common questions about I-9s, apostilles, or loan signings.
-Cleaning company? Post before-and-after shots of your deep cleans with maintenance tips.

Real-life experience = content that Google and your clients trust.

Founders don’t need more social media content.

They need content that:
✅ Builds authority
✅ Shares real insight
✅ Makes people care

After years writing for brands like adidas, and Merriam-Webster, along with interviewing experts for media outlets, I learned something important:

Often, the best-performing posts don't rely on clever copy tricks.
It’s built on real experiences, unique perspectives, and stories only you can tell.
The bottleneck I see with so many founders is that their posts sounds like it could’ve been written by anyone, which means it connects with no one.

Your story, your beliefs, and your journey are your most powerful assets.

They can’t be templated.
And they definitely can’t be replicated by AI or anyone else.

I work with founders 1:1 to turn their ideas into social media content that builds their personal brand and positions them as leaders in their space on LinkedIn.

Through in-depth interviews, we dive into how you got to where you are: your wins, challenges, ethos, and POVs that set you apart. Then we turn that into content that earns trust and inspires your audience to action.
