If targeting the senior population and their caregivers in the greater Jacksonville area is important to your business' future, look no further than the Jacksonville Senior Services Directory!

Heritage Publishing, Inc. has been serving the senior community of Jacksonville for almost 30 years. The Senior Services Directory was the brainchild of former Mayor Ed Austin and his team, headed by Mr. Glen McKibben, who wanted a way to better serve the area's senior population, caregivers and to inform them about programs and services available to them from the City of Jacksonville. Thus, the Senior Services Directory was designed as a single source for area seniors and caregivers to reference for information, not only what the city and state of Florida offered, but also what area agencies on aging, medical facilities and local businesses that cater to the senior community have to offer.

We have commenced our advertising sales campaign for 2025 and have begun taking space reservations for the next edition of the Jacksonville Senior Services Directory, which will be debuted, as always, at the Semi-Annual Senior Expo and hosted by the city of Jacksonville in May and November. 21,000 copies will be available at many locations around the area. Most are handed directly to a senior by a caregiver, social worker, case manager or elder advocate free of charge. It is also available as a flipbook online at https://heritagepublishinginc.com/jacksonville-senior-services-directory/ Area seniors and their companions love it for its large, easy-to-read font size and wide selection of area businesses that welcome and are eager to work with seniors.

We will be visiting hundreds of businesses and medical offices in the area soon to ask for your support of the Jacksonville Senior Services Directory. Reserve your space for next year’s Directory right away. The Directory is supported by your advertising investment which allows us to continue to serve area seniors free of charge.

Today I am asking for your support in the form of an advertisement in the 2025-26 Directory. Our representatives will be in the area soon to work with you on a custom plan just for your business. We have many different advertising options for you to choose from and can work with just about any budget.

If you are interested in advertising in the Jacksonville Senior Services Directory, and one of our reps has not yet visited or called you, please call or email me at the address and number below and I will take care of you.

Jacksonville, FL — This Halloween, The 5 & Dime’s opening the door to a world of power, drama, and ultimate sisterhood with LIZZIE, THE MUSICAL! “A gothic rock ritual with a riotgirl attitude,” (The New York Times) this North Florida premiere is sure to bring killer performances and a hauntingly great time!

In the heat of late summer 1892, Andrew Borden and his wife were found murdered in their house. The main suspect in the murders was Andrew’s youngest daughter from a previous marriage, Lizzie Borden. Using a searing rock score, and based on the historical record, LIZZIE explores the heady and heated days leading up to the murder and Lizzie’s controversial acquittal of all charges and the creation of a new American myth.

LIZZIE is directed by Abby Gomez, with musical direction by Erin Barnes. The cast includes rock start women Angie Acedera, Elizabeth Bricknell, Catie Casey, and Sara Beth Sohn in the role of Lizzie.

“LIZZE has been a trip in discovering the pure female rage that tells the tale of Lizzie Borden and the eventual murders of her father and stepmother, says director Abby Gomez. “This high energy, gruesome rock musical is a dramatization that will leave our audience viewing this historical event in a different light.”

LIZZIE opens on Halloween, October 31, and continues to run at The 5 & Dime November 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, and 16. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances begin at 8 pm; Sunday performances begin at 2pm. Tickets are $27 online or $30 at the door. The performance on Thursday, November 14th is a special Pay What You Please performance where the community is invited to attend at whatever ticket price they’d like to pay at the door. All performances are held in the Black Box at The Florida Ballet, 10131 Atlantic Blvd., where The 5 & Dime is in residency.

Trigger Warning: LIZZIE contains themes of childhood sexual abuse and violence and may not be appropriate for all audiences. Discretion is advised. Strobe and fog special fx are used during the performance.
