My husband encouraged me to teach myself how to make websites in 1998. Though I was more interested in making art than being on a computer, I did find it engaging and learned pretty quickly. After creating a few websites for family endeavors and for friends over the years, something happened that changed everything. In 2008, a woman I had met the year before sent out an email to a group of mutual

friends saying she was ready for a website, and asking if we knew someone who could help her. I replied to say that I would be happy to help her. When her website was ready, she said she felt she had learned things about herself she didn't know by being able to see herself through the website I made for her. She started telling all her artist friends, and another artist immediately approached me to discuss a new website. I completed that one, and then there was another...Next thing I knew, I had a full time business as a freelance website designer! In addition to helping people create their online presence, I founded the Southern Oregon Artists Resource in 2009. http://www.soartists.com This is my community service, created in an effort to promote the incredibly talented, friendly, and innovative art community of Southern Oregon to help them survive a new and very difficult economic environment.
