Cush Communications had a catch up meeting yesterday with new client Oasis Face Bar in Neptune Beach, Florida.

After an exciting ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Neptune Beach location, the local media push yielded coverage in The Ponte Vedra Recorder with reporter Taylor Colby. Now that the excitement of opening is passing, co-owners Kendall Brown and Katie Brown and I all have follow-ups to do with more local and regional media opportunities from the push.

I am already helping with media outreach for the launch of their first of five locations in the Jacksonville area and will share some of the earned media next week. I love having a client in the beauty and wellness industry, as it takes me back to my magazine editing days of writing headlines and captions for skincare and makeup articles.

It’s a September to remember here at Cush Communications HQ, as Tilley, our Chief Treat Officer, gets cozy with her fall magazine reading.

Oh hey, are those our clients on the covers of two local magazines this month? You betcha!

Congratulations to Danny Witt of on sharing his fascinating story with Ponte Vedra Neighbors magazine. It was cool to read about how he was drawn to the court and what motivates him to keep teaching the next generation of tennis players. We also got a bit of insight into his spouse Devon Witt, Realtor - Berkshire Hathaway HSFNR and her real estate career path.

Kudos to Jennifer and John Waldrop, owners of Vie Home Services, for sharing some scenes from their beautiful new yard and a glimpse into their family life. They keep their home in tip top shape, and have helped their customers do the same for over 15 years.

When you run a local business in a tight-knit community, these types of media outlets help you get in front of your key audience. I’m so grateful to Meeka Cook and , publisher of for giving my clients a relevant platform.

Cheers 🥂 to one amazing year of Cush Communications!

A year ago, I opened my own PR and marketing business. Like any first year in business, it’s been filled with learning, growing, and relationship-building.

Today, I’m taking a moment to celebrate what some of that work has produced.

Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of earning media coverage for my clients, and for Cush Communications, in outlets including The Wall Street Journal, ForbesVetted, Southern Living, &Gardens, .com, Everyday Health, The Ponte Vedra Recorder, and Jacksonville.com, along with many golf podcasts and golf substacks and newsletters.

There were some especially rewarding local wins, too. I planned and hosted a client event that received local media coverage, and two of my clients landed on the covers of local magazines, perfect examples of how PR can help small businesses connect with the audiences in their own communities. I also created and managed several email campaigns for one client with a list of 5,000 plus readers.

But what I’m most proud of is helping great businesses and organizations tell their stories, establish their expertise, and get in front of the audiences that matter to them.

I’m super grateful to every client who trusted me with their brand and their story during this first year, and to the journalists, editors, producers and podcast hosts who took the time to listen and help amplify the messages.

Here comes the bride…I mean, bridal article!

What a fun assignment to write about how to make your food and beverage displays stand out at your wedding for Northwest Florida Weddings magazine.

Sort of related, this video of some cocktails my friends and I enjoyed last weekend at the iconic Ocean House RI, where we spotted two absolutely gorgeous weddings in progress. I’m confident that all wedding guests were wowed by delightful cocktail hour nibbles, clever mixology, and scrumptious desserts.
