One of my favorite projects that I’ve worked on was for the very first youth conference held at my Home Church; the Peace over Panic Elevate Youth Conference!
A lot of people don’t know this, but I was actually one of the co-founder of this conference. We wanted to host a event just before school started in order to kick off the school year. We chose the name “Peace over Panic” because at the time we were 6 months deep into the pandemic, & we wanted to bring light & comfort to our youth in such a chaotic season.
The initial name for this conference was “Comfort in Crisis”; but we decided to change it, because “comfort” sounded too “baby - ish” for a youth conference.
I chose the color cyan for this design because: whenever I think of the word “comfort”, I automatically think of a soft baby blue. (I didn’t like the way “baby blue” looked at first, so that why I changed it to Cyan)
I chose the color yellow for the same reason: whenever I think of the word “crisis”, I think of the color yellow (specifically like a neon, construction site yellow). Because of this, we went with a blacklight / glow in the dark theme.
As far as marketing, the plan was to keep it solely online; but a month prior, we decided to print flyers. You can see the progression from the first online flyer to the final in person version.
