What a great time in OKC for Kitt Wakeley's Christmas in July party. Oklahoma is so rich with talent. So many trailblazers in the music industry right here in our great state! It was a star-studded event and the music industry is growing exponentially in Oklahoma. So honored to be a small part of all that is happening here.

Finally getting a few minutes to sit down and take in the incredible night last night at the Merle Haggard statue unveiling and tribute concert in Muskogee. I’ve had the privilege of helping promote this event for over a year now starting with the commissioning of the sculpture. It’s been an amazing journey and seeing so many Merle Haggard fans at the unveiling of the stunning statue of the legend who put Muskogee on the map was pretty emotional for me. I can’t even express to the Merle Haggard statue committee and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame What a great job you all did in bringing this long awaited project to fruition! I also want to thank my Media colleagues for all the great coverage that you gave to this event. It was covered nationwide, and the sculptor, Benjamin Victor got it spot on. When we saw the unveiling of “The Hag”, it was absolutely jaw dropping! I’ve been so blessed to have a lot of inspiring moments in my career, but this one has an extra special place in my heart and I can’t wait for others to see this incredible statue. Thanks everybody who was a part of this project and thanks to Ben Haggard for giving the best tribute concert to your father and to the incredible The Swon Brothers, Wade Hayes, Jana Jae, Shelby Eicher, Heath Wright and all who performed!! Checking off one on my bucket list!!

On October 10th, history will be made in downtown Muskogee Ok as the iconic music legend, MERLE HAGGARD will be honored with a statue in the very place the unforgettable mega hit "Okie From Muskogee" was recorded live 55 years ago. Merle Haggard influenced so many music careers and his music has been part of the soundtrack of so many of our lives. This event will see people from all over the country come to witness this bronze statue be unveiled. And if that isn't big enough news, directly following the statue unveiling, a tribute concert will take place in the same venue where Merle performed Okie From Muskogee and recorded the Live album of the same name. Who will be headlining you ask? Well, people who knew the man well, performed with him, and have his musical talent running through their veins. None other than Ben and Noel Haggard, two Merle's sons will be performing their father's greatest hits. Both hugely talented musicians will be joined onstage by many artists who have been influenced by Merle's music. To name a few, The Swon Brothers, Jana Jae, Wade Hayes, Shelby Eicher and many more. This promises to not only be a historic event but one that will be emotionally infused by great music, memories and honor to a man that's legacy will prevail for all time.

The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame will have a state of the art museum and showcase the incomparable Oklahoma music in a venue that is fitting to display the enormous contribution Oklahoma has made to the art of music! My heart is full!

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Joe Bonsai of the Oakridge Boys. I had the honor of working with Joe and interviewing him back in 2017 when I worked with the Brumley's. Joe was the kindest man, always generous with his smile. Such a talented soul. He leaves a great legacy as an incredible man of music but even more important as a true man of God. RIP Joe Bonsal!

June 5, 2017 I was privileged to put together the Neal Schon Day at the Woody Guthrie Center where the legendary Journey founder and Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and Museum inductee received the Neal Schon Day proclamation. I had 48 hours to put this event together.for my wonderful clients Neal & Michaele Schon. I was so happy that Neal was honored in the state of his birth. I had every media outlet in attendance and we held a reception afterwards where fans could get up close and person with the iconic guitarist and his beautiful wife Michaele! I have been blessed to work with Neal & Michaele Schon on Beverly publicity projects since 2013 when Neal Schon was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. Oklahoma has the most amazing musical talent coming out of our state and I'm so grateful that I've worked with many Oklahoma artists and still do.
