I really wanted to share with you a selection of Artwork from the exhibition that took place at Trinity College Biomedical Institute , Pearse Street Dublin.

From paintings, digital illustrations, freestanding sculptures and creative video content, all illustrating symptoms they experience and the impact on their lives. The collection explores themes of bodily integration, self-image and changing identities with a palpable vulnerability that invites viewers to consider the artist’s perspective. It is hoped this self-reflexive examination raises awareness of the sheer diversity of potential symptoms by providing insight into the reality of living with MS.

I feel honoured to be showcasing my work alongside talented artists from throughout the county, whom i got to meet over Zoom over the last couple of months. Looking forward to meeting them in real life at the launch on May 27th and seeing their work. The theme of the gallery is "Symptoms of MS" and my piece is very personal to me. I really enjoyed creating it, it almost felt like a therapy working on and completing it. 💖

Illustration logo concepts which I just loved working on but didn't make final cut. I thought they were too good not to share. The fin of the fish is the sun coming up over Donegal Bay, the watercolour style is soft and natural and the palette lends itself perfectly with the sea and landscape. 🌊🐟🎣🦈

I'm working on a web banner and brochure at the minute and I thought about today's design tip. Scale and Hierarchy, both highlight important words/images and are one of the fundamentals of graphic design.

Scale refers to the relative size of a design element in comparison to another element. As designer Steven Bradley wrote, “A single object has no scale until it’s seen in comparison with something else.”

Hierarchy is changing any of the following

⭐ Size – Users notice larger elements more easily.

⭐ Colour – Bright colours typically attract more attention than muted ones

⭐Texture and Style – Richer textures stand out over flat ones.

⭐Contrast – Dramatically contrasted colours are more eye-catching.

⭐Alignment – Out-of-alignment elements stand out over aligned ones.

⭐Repetition – Repeating styles can suggest content is related.

⭐Proximity – Closely placed elements seem related.

⭐Whitespace – More space around elements draws the eye towards them.
