Mitre Peak

At 1,690 meters (5,500 feet) tall, Mitre Peak is the highest sea cliff in the world, with other cliffs in the sound ranking among the world’s highest. Located on the South Island’s Milford Sound, it is one of the most photographed mountains in the sound. The mountain resembles a bishop’s hat, which is how it acquired the name “Mitre.” A boat tour is a popular way to see Mitre’s sea cliffs. Mitre Peak actually is a close grouping of five peaks that seemingly blend into one.

Kozheozersky Monastery

Located in the northwest of Russia, Kozheozersky Monastery is set on a small, scenic peninsula jutting out into Lake Kozhozero. Due to its remote setting, the only way to reach the monastery is to hike for 30 kilometers through the wilderness until you see its white walls rising before you.

Since being founded during the 1550s, the monastery has been burnt down and rebuilt, used as a place for political exile, and even as an army base during the Russian Civil War. Nowadays, it is inhabited by one solitary hegumen, who tends to the building and welcomes the rare visitor who makes it to the monastery.

Qingshui Most Dramatic Sea Cliffs in the World

Qingshui Cliff is so spectacular the Taiwanese government considers it one of the island nation’s eight wonders. Stretching for 13 miles along the Pacific Coast, the cliffs rise to heights of more than 800 meters (2,600 feet).

Made up of marble and gneiss, the cliffs are on the only coastal road through Tanoko National Park. The southeastern side of Mt. Qingshui is the steepest cliff. A new tunneled highway replaced the old road, which has been turned into a walking path.

Visitors to the cliffs at Skansbukta, Svalbard will have a chance to revisit history while enjoying looking at the barren cliffs, which stand out from a lush landscape. The area was once home to a gypsum mine, with artifacts from that era found on the beach; a trapper’s cabin also is located here. Because of the danger from falling rock, visitors are advised not to try and climb the cliff from the beach side. A journey over the water is the best way to reach here.

Wonton Soup - ❤️😋

Never get tired of this amazing soup. You can use store-bought wontons but I like to make mine… The flavor is unbeatable! 💯👌🏼😋

Ingredients:

WONTONS
8 ounces ground pork
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon brown sugar
2 green onions, finely chopped
24 square (3½ inches each) wonton wrappers

SOUP
6 cups (1,440g) chicken broth
1½ teaspoons garlic, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2-3 green onions, finely chopped

PREPARATION:

WONTONS
In a large bowl combine pork, rice wine, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, sugar, and onion. Mix well.
Place 1 heaping teaspoon of filling into the center of each wonton wrapper.
Moisten edges with water and fold the corners together, pressing out any excess air. (It should look like a triangle).
Slightly lift the long edge of the wonton. Wrap the edges in the opposite directions and press firmly to seal, using your finger to create a space and wetting the edges as needed.
Continue with the rest of the wontons and let them rest while you prepare the soup.

SOUP
In a medium pot over medium heat add chicken broth, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions.
In a separate large pot, bring about 4 quarts of water to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add wontons and cook for 5 minutes.
Strain the wontons and add them to the warm broth mixture. Serve warm.
