One of my favorite parts of this project was learning that Michelle’s dad planted the orchids around Lakewood Dental years ago (and still takes care of them today). That legacy became a huge inspiration for the rebrand.

We wanted to create something that honored where the practice began while reflecting Michelle’s vision for where it’s going. I designed multiple logo variations and built a full visual system with thoughtful colors, textures, and custom patterns. To me, the final branding feels calm, refined, and beautifully unique.

During my pregnancy, I was very intentional about the projects I accepted, but when Tami sent over the manuscript for This Isn’t the Life I Prayed For, I knew right away this was something special. From a design perspective, it was an exciting challenge: a 280-page, full-color devotional thoughtfully organized into a 12-week study. But even more than that, it became something I personally needed. The words met me in a season of change, uncertainty, and discomfort, and I found myself designing a book I was also walking through as a reader.

Every detail of this project was created with intention, from the curated images to the spacious layouts that leave room for reflection and journaling. My goal was to design a book that felt beautiful and comforting for readers navigating hard seasons, while still honoring the depth of the message within its pages.

Grayson- forever my favorite creation 🩵

The last 10 months have been hard. I was sick my entire pregnancy and I didn’t feel like myself. There was never a day off and each day was a battle. I’m so grateful to have grown a healthy baby boy who now is the center of our world. Even in the sleepless newborn nights, I feel so much better having made it through pregnancy (if you’re struggling like I was, hold on, there’s hope coming).

Now we can’t wait to start to introducing the best parts of our lives to our son. I’m taking two more weeks away from full time work and then I will continue designing. I can honestly say I’m so excited to keep creating in a job I love! In the meantime, I’ll be soaking up the newborn cuddles.
