One of the sweet graphics I created for the inspiring Medicinal Media.
Dedicated to addressing the youth mental health crisis, they create tools and content, building community and making mental health accessible.
We could all use some time away from our devices, our robot overlords- to make stuff-
Don’t have to be great, or good, or shared-
Something for ourselves
Something analog - can be so therapeutic and restorative.
Let’s spend more time being human.
You can get this sweet graphic over at the shop on tees and hoodies.
Go support them, and then go make some messy, fun art.
Let me know what you’re making, and peek my stories to see my recent ceramic projects.

My pro bono design life update-
When the news is dire, being helpful becomes much more meaningful to me than making money. I’m s**te at capitalism.
After the last presidential election I reached out to nonprofits in my community to offer design help however I could be of service. The first of those projects is rolling out now-

Meet an inspiring nonprofit that addresses the youth mental health crisis. They create tools and content, building community and making mental health accessible. Heroes.

I’ve created a series of graphics that represent Medicinal Media’s focus and values- available as tees and hoodies, so their community can amplify and support their message. You can too.

The first to roll out is here- Unplug to Recharge, a reminder that stepping away from the noise can be a powerful tool for our well being.

Proud to support this work, and happy to have the reminder, particularly relevant on this app at at this moment.

Consider supporting and check out their great content.
If you know other nonprofits that are doing some good rn, that could maybe use some design support- please introduce us.

Spent the weekend with some outstanding folks at some natural hot springs. All towels were classic stripes, which felt crazy to me after staring at this logo until my eyes glazed over trying to get the flutter and the stripes just. right.

This logo for a laundry product might be moving in a different direction, but it’s too damn charming not to share.

No Kings protest in Maui - closing out a huge day of cross country protests.
Inspired to watch the photos come through from all over.
Things are not ok, but we’re in it together, and we’re way funnier.

A collection of fun things I designed for friend’s projects in Black Rock City this year… Camps, klowns, airlines, unions.

So grateful for my creative, smart, can’t stop won’t stop, s**t stirring community.

- for the annual return to the desert since 1996,

- for the annual renewal of my faith in humanity - needed more than ever.

I'd like to introduce you to my 13th BRC Survival Guide. This year’s theme encourages us to envision the future that we want to see. For me that’s protecting the natural world, embracing human creativity, and celebrating native cultures.

Or put another way ... Im struggling to accept the present and the future scares the pants off me (we can talk about politics and war in a different post).

I poured my values and my angst in here. I dream of the past - not some artificial 1950s Beaver Cleaver recent past, but a primordial time before humans started mucking up the earth and each other.

I needed to represent as much diverse indigenous art as I could wrangle, collaged into the pages of the SG to honor non-Western arts and cultures. I sweated the blurry line between celebration and appropriation every day, and I hope that comes across.

The wonderful folks at Burning Man saw my human-less, future-less designs and gently nudged me to at least acknowledge the theme for my 80,000 friends in Black Rock City - so hidden among collaged images of indigenous art including ancient weavings from Peru, panted hides from North American tribes, landscapes and mythical creatures from the Middle East and Asia, are tiny futuristic cosmonauts that have landed on earth to usher in a hopeful age.

Let me know which hidden details and artifacts are your favorites - most meaningful, or most silly - and let me know if I'll see you out there.

Thank you for this creative opportunity, for my beautiful community, and for this public therapy session

Behind the Velvet Rope: Book Cover Design 📙

Designing book covers holds a special place in my heart- especially because it’s the exclusive domain of book designers, and I rarely get an invite to this party!

Thrilled to share this collaboration with for Connected to Place by , Ph.D.

The challenge: Create detailed illustration that still works as a simple, impactful book cover. The breakthrough? Reducing scale to transform complexity into clarity- an actual visual roadmap that invites curiosity.
This cover extends beyond the book, serving as educational material for Matt’s talks and workshops.

Congrats Matt! 🎉 Connected to Place is now available through Cornell University Press.

A protest in Maui is the best reason I’ve had all year to come back here and be social.
Feeling more human than I have since November.
Fight fascism, defend democracy, don’t give up.
