12 years ago we said our vows a world away in a Tipperary garden. We had intended to return to for our tenth anniversary, but 2020 wasn’t exactly prime travel time. So our kids started a tradition where they serve us a meal on our lanai and pretend to be high-end wait staff. ☺️ We have to dress in our finest, and refer to them as garçon and mademoiselle, and it’s adorable.

Life is funny like that. Lemons to lemonade, giant travel plans reduced to a few steps out the back door. But it’s truly, always about the company. 😘 Happy anniversary

When couples create their own vows, you know their words are intentional. When it’s in writing, you make those thoughts tangible. When you see it displayed everyday, it becomes a mantra. 😌Words are so powerful and keeping them on a digital platform reduces their impact. I don’t care if your words are legible, but write them down, and read them. Put them on your fridge or your bathroom mirror, and sneak a post-it into your kids’ lunchbox. You will never regret being reminded of your convictions.

to days with overflowing monstera place cards and weddings every weekend. 🌿 Such a strange season to be forced to slow down, and yet grateful for the extra sleep. There is research which suggests a person responds most completely to his/her name. We subconsciously seek it out, we hear it in ambient noise, and it evokes increased brain stimulation in those without the ability to communicate

It’s Leap Week! IDK if that’s a real thing, but we do have an extra day this year, and it’s a weekend, so it’s even easier to choose to spend it doing something you’ve been meaning/wanting to do forever

Come and spend your Saturday Leap Day morning with me learning modern calligraphy! This is my first formal class with a dip pen/ink and metal nib. So if you have taken one of my classes before this is a bit different. It’s a new class with focus on a calligraphy pen and making the art of calligraphy your own

All supplies are included in the $50 course fee. You can reserve your seat by calling at (808) 334-0292, on their website www.akamaiart.com or stop by the shop. Class will be upstairs in their classroom from 10-12

This is how I fell in love with lettering, and I am so excited to share that excitement. It’s designed as a beginners’ course, but I will be offering individualized skill drills for those who are more advanced. 🤓 best for ages 13 and older

Happy Galentine’s day! 🧡❤️💚 I’m sharing a little love for my favorite gal while I’m on the mainland attending a conference and freezing my tail off

A few weeks ago, we had a girls’ day and while we were wandering through a store, Lil started to skip. I was about to ask her to stop jumping around lest something break, and the request caught in my throat. Instead I asked her why she was skipping. she responded without missing a beat, “because it’s fun!” 😍 “Sometimes adults forget that” I replied as we skipped together and she beamed

So here’s a raised tea glass and popsicle toast to all our best gals of all ages. 😘
