Focusing on creating designs that invoke strong emotions to connect with viewers more deeply. Amanda has been drawing ever since childhood, learning various mediums along the way. She has practiced with colored pencils, painting, charcoal, and even digital mediums. She also enjoys utilizing other traditional art forms such as linoleum block printing and collaging. She’s always been into fine art,
but in high school, she discovered that she loves designing. She loves to utilize illustration and/or traditional mediums in her design work when the opportunity arises. Her strong empathetic and emotionally sensitive nature allows her ton design for heart. Her works don’t just solve the problem; they invoke strong emotion, with bold color palettes, playful graphic elements, and a unique take on typography. Amanda believes that everything should have beauty to it. You can’t just plop information down and expect people to be drawn to it. That is why strong design is so important; it gives excitement and enthusiasm to things that we wouldn’t normally see as fun; product packages, wayfinding signs, habit-tracking apps, etc. Humans crave beauty because it makes us feel strongly, whether cheering us up in dark times, or intensifying the difficult emotions like sadness and anger to allow us to process them properly. She also has other creative hobbies outside of 2D art and design, such as sewing and interior decorating. Everything to her is an art project, so she’s always seeking a way to let her creative ideas out. Even if a garment she’s sewn doesn’t get worn much, she appreciates it just as much as her other clothes, if not more. That goes the same for the way she’s re-arranged her bedroom multiple times throughout the years. The goal isn’t just a nice-looking room, it’s feelings of safety, comfort, self-love, and rejuvenation. If she’s not doing anything creative, she’s gathering inspiration for her next project by visiting antique and vintage stores, taking walks in beautiful parks and gardens, or scrolling on Pinterest. She’s definitely down to get coffee with you to discuss working together because it’s her favorite drink after water.
