“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9

This is hands down my favorite verse of the Bible. This verse has rung true countless times in my life.

I have cried over lost opportunities in my life that if taken would have closed the doors to even greater opportunities.

I have cried over failed relationships that taught me values to avoid in new relationships.

I used to live my life pessimistically. I used to see failures as roadblocks and dead ends. Now I see failures as opportunities to look for better things in the near future.

1 year ago I was working with concrete, I was legally single, and I had no dependents other than my doggo. Now, I have a successful career working for a financial advisor, I’m married to an amazing and supportive woman, I have a beautiful baby boy, and now a shockingly successful business.

Always be on the lookout for new opportunities. Look at what they can do for you and look at what they might do against you.

You can set your plans, goals, and aspirations, but the road to get there will be bumpy and ugly. That is God’s way of testing you and your faith. Stay strong, stay humble, stay true.
