SpaceX is expanding its Texas footprint with a major new semiconductor fabrication project in Grimes County.

The first phase of the Terafab project represents more than $16.8 billion in capital investment and is expected to create 3,000 new jobs. The 100-million-square-foot facility will bring logic, memory and advanced packaging production under one roof to support SpaceX’s future chip needs.

More than 100 high school students recently put their skills to the test at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Industrial Craft Competition, held at Texas State Technical College.

This event highlights more than competition. It shows the next generation preparing for careers in welding, pipefitting and project management. After months of hands-on training, working with industry mentors and fabricating complex industrial projects, these students stepped into a real-world environment and performed under pressure.

It is great to see young craftsmen and craftswomen rising to the challenge and representing the future of the industry.
