5 Quick Facebook Marketing Tips for Local Businesses📱
Want to get your business in front of more local people without paying for ads? Here are a few simple things you can start doing today:
1. Tag your location. 📍
If you’re doing business in the Tri-Cities, add a location to your posts! Whether it’s Tri-Cities in general or specifically Pasco, Kennewick, Richland or West Richland, location tags give Facebook more context about where your content is relevant and can help local people discover you.
2. Assume every post is someone’s first impression!
Don’t assume people already know who you are or what you’re talking about. Include the who, what, when, where and why whenever it makes sense. The easier your post is to understand on its own, the better.
3. Tag the people and businesses you work with.
Collaborating with another local business? Tag them! You can tag the business directly in the post or photo and mention them with the @ symbol. It gives them an opportunity to engage or share and can introduce your business to a whole new audience.
4. Utilize local community groups. 📲
When group rules allow it, share relevant posts in local Facebook groups. Don’t just advertise…share something useful, interesting or genuinely relevant to that community. It’s a great way to reach local people who may have never heard of your business.
5. Engage, engage, engage. 👋🏼
Social media is meant to be social! Like and comment on posts, respond to comments on your own content and interact with other local businesses and community pages. Don’t just post and disappear.
You don’t always need a big advertising budget to improve your reach. Sometimes it starts with being local, specific and social.
