In-person events have proven to be a pivotal tool in business, but there are definitely a few things you need to consider in order to enhance the guest experience.
1) Welcome- when your guests walk into a registration room or even into the welcome party, that sets the tone for how the perceive the remainder of the event. I encourage you to really focus this part of the experience on them. If you anticipate long lines, how can we really make this experience worth the wait?
2) Sponsorship touch points- if your guest is receiving branded items, they may use them, but it’s not incentivizing them to think twice about the sponsor. Instead of plastering logos, develop immersive experiences, your guests and sponsors will thank you later.
3) Programming- your guests will check out if you have one speaker after another with only a snack break in between. Your program needs to be a healthy blend of work and play (try disguising some work as play;).
