Today's Speaker was Cheryll Barker with Beads of a Rose. Cheryll is a mutli- talented artist that turns flowers from memorable occasions into wearable art. Using a process she learned over 30 years ago she can turn flowers from all occasions into 'smelly dirt' and makes beads that give off a fragrance for years to come. It is a painstaking and time consuming process that she has perfected! Her work is exquisite. Check out her gallery for inspiration.

Why do relationships matter?
It's because creating a relationship with both new and potential customers allows businesses to offer a more personalized and enticing customer experience.
And it is exactly the quality of the experience you offer that will determine whether of not you’ll establish long-term business success
In a recent study, 86% of customers claim their experiences are just as important as the actual product or service they purchase.
This means businesses are not only required to provide products or services their customers need, but they also must also deliver a great end-to-end experience across every touchpoint.

7. Remember to follow up. It's often said that networking is where the conversation begins, not ends. If you've had a great exchange, ask your conversation partner the best way to stay in touch. Some people like email or phone; others prefer social networks like LinkedIn. Get in touch within 48 hours of the event to show you're interested and available, and reference something you discussed, so your contact remembers you.

Today's Network education moment taught us not to be fixed, like a fire hydrant, but to have a growth mindset. Successful people constantly improve in every area of life and work towards mastery.
Amy Bible with Harrington Insurance Agency - The agency of personal service also taught us about fire hydrants... the closer your home is to a fire hydrant, the better your insurance rate could be. Thank you Amy for the ins and out of insurance language.

6. Don't hijack the conversation. Some people who dislike networking may overcompensate by commandeering the discussion. Don't forget: The most successful networkers (think of those you've met) are good at making other people feel special. Look people in the eye, repeat their name, listen to what they have to say, and suggest topics that are easy to discuss. Be a conversationalist, not a talker.

5. Smile. It's a simple – but often overlooked – rule of engagement. By smiling, you'll put your nervous self at ease, and you'll also come across as warm and inviting to others. Remember to smile before you enter the room, or before you start your next conversation. And if you're really dreading the event? Check the negative attitude at the door.

Today's network education moment taught us that high impact people choose NOT to be confused and live in clarity. You can choose to be confused, which leads to overthinking to often avoid making the tough decisions.
One of our toughest decisions in life is home ownership. Scott Hampstead with First Choice Lending Services is our resident EXPERT on all things credit scores, mortgages and interest rates. He can help you with the whole alphabet soup of loans- FHA, VA, USDA/RD as well as conventional loans, reverse mortgages and jumbo loans.

4. Share your passion. Win people over with your enthusiasm for your product or service. Leave a lasting impression by telling a story about why you were inspired to create your company. Talking about what you enjoy is often contagious, too. When you get other people to share their passion, it creates a memorable two-way conversation.

3. Ditch the sales pitch. Remember, networking is all about relationship building. Keep your exchange fun, light and informal – you don't need to do the hard sell within minutes of meeting a person. The idea is to get the conversation started. People are more apt to do business with – or partner with – people whose company they enjoy.
