Ellis Signs & Custom Painting Chris Ellis - Owner Chris Ellis is born and raised in South Hill, VA. His love of art and drawing is something that he has done his entire life.

Growing up Chris learned how to do body work and painting watching his Dad who ran and still runs a body shop. His love of cars runs as far back as his grandfather who was a mechanic but treated his cars with care and respect. Chris began working for his dad when he was about 15 and worked for him until he went out on his own in 1996. From the time he could hold a pencil he began to draw. As he grew he combined his love of cars with his talent for drawing and painting. Over the last 16 years Chris has done numerous restorations and custom paint jobs on motorcycles and cars. Through the years he has been recognized for his work with awards from Dupont, Airbrush Magazine, and House of Kolor. Now married, Chris has two children which share his love for cars and art. His daughter Miranda is already drawing and beginning to develop her skills as an artist at age 7 and his son Logan loves to watch and work along side his Dad in the shop although he is only 4. Keeping everything in the family, Chris wife does the bookwork for the shop. Growing up in a small town, Chris understands the importance of taking pride in your work. Chris is very detail oriented and wants every job to be done to the highest standard possible. He believes in quality not quantity and therefore takes his time to ensure that when the job is complet that it is the best it can possibly be.
