Gearing up for a livestream event this weekend.

Loving these high-speed, razor-thin DOF anamorphic cine lenses. This library of best-cuts were shot for a good-growing company, Collision Stone Guard, last year after the initial lenses were selected and the mini-trinity gimbal system was being built. This was my first time using the Tilta Mirage motorized system with both CPL and VND filters. Most of this footage was filmed on tripods, with a few select ones on the gimbals. Original resolutions were 5k and 6K 1.333 aspect ratio at 120 fps, down-rezzed to 4K (24-120 fps). No color-timing has been applied to this reel.

*Special Note: Make sure you switch playback to 4K (2160), Youtube sometimes gets lazy and leaves you in HD mode, which is a shame.

Still a work in progress: Even with the headiest of Midwestern wine & bar establishments... a challenging post-edit/animation session can bleed well into the unholiest of hours.

What is a nocturnal filmmaker to do?

Create a full-service in-house wine & java cafe, a blade-runneresque cocktail bar and a night-spa (both still under construction) for the most discerning of digital film artists and VIP.
This isn't all just for show, these new additions to the Vision Realm experience are part of an ambitious ASMR channel launch, currently in pre-production. It has been a long road, but with a bit more plumbing, a couple more layers of neon, and the perfect muse (yet to be cast)... well, stay tuned!

They call it the "Alien Spine". With a crisp suite of 10 XLR inputs and many different audio input configurations and modules, this portable recorder-mixer covers all the bases and was the best match for our new remote podcasting and live-event/post-production system. Wherever the next booking takes us, however complex or challenging, it can be set up in just a few minutes and has an optional interior/exterior tent enclosure (black or white) to maintain a low profile. It's a lot of eye-catching gear and we don't want it being a distraction.
To maintain the pristine audio recordings for live-event, on-location/phone interviews, post mixdown and mastering, we went with Egyptian Mogami cables and put the system through its paces making sure every signal feed was as clean as possible. This portable configuration can be paired with our livestream master control system and easily adapted to venue sound boards and media interfaces. Never one to pass on a build... I took on the 15 Pro Max challenge of rigging one out with a Thunderbolt 4 SSD hub with a 50,000 Mah power bank, 4k Hollyland Transmitter, Tilta Nucleus Nano remote follow-focus wheel, a DJI mic system with Rode lav mics, 2 TB SSD card, a Crane 2 gimbal, anamorphic lens adapter, cpl/vnd/uv/filters, a Small Rig cage and a Magsafe heat-sink with USB fan, to keep the Pro Max from overheating while recording in Apple Pro Log, for hours on end... another one of my signature overkill/overbuild style projects. Not to mention, a plethora of attachments, adapters, magic arms, fast-plates and tripods. This was a lot of fun, and I will be using it for buttery smooth run-n-gun shooting with an optional tandem operator to pull focus and gyro-stick the framing for me, on the fly. More crazy builds... coming up.

Raise them if you've got 'em. Up to 8 live-feed 4K transmitters feeding a variety of tandem-gimbal cinema rigs, stationary (tripod/pole/mega c-stand) remote-head, large-small 6-rotor drone platforms and a variety of stabilized action cams with resolutions from 4K-8K, outfitted with every type of high-speed cine anamorphic lenses (with an array of cpl/vnd/uv/etc filters and matte boxes), that we could find. Every cinema rig is outfitted with a full EFP suite (360-sound, lighting, weather proofed) and full-duplex communications for "whisper-quiet" full-time, hands-free choreography between the camera operators, their tandem operators, crew and master control. We have you covered for every type of remote live-event that you want streamed and pristinely recorded, with text/emoji, video/voice-feed interaction between remote audiences and on-location attendees. A quick peak at one of the many cinema rigs, recently configured, assembled and battle tested, ready for prime time. With a lot of painstaking R&D, I tend to overbuild, test and rebuild, pushing the very limits of these finely-crafted tools. My rigs must hold up to the rigors of a 16-hour shoot day, in all weather, endless scenarios and production demands. Every thing is possible here at the Realm. New reel and service offerings about to launch as 2024 shapes up to be a big year for the mavericks of Midwestern Cinema Production.
