​Price vs. Value: At first glance, the price feels a little high, but once you get down to the roots of it, the ingredients are incredibly high-quality and very well-portioned.
​The Chicken (8/10): A tad on the dry side by itself, but the homemade sauce steps right in and completely negates it, so you don't even focus on it.
​The Sauces & Toppings (10/10): The homemade ranch is exceptional. It’s light, absolutely balanced, and keeps you excited for each bite. The lettuce is a standout fresh, crisp, and hits you with a perfect crunch.
​2. Custom BBQ Mac (Subbed BBQ for Buffalo)
​The Pasta: Cooked absolutely perfectly. Even if you don't normally care for penne pasta, this prep is flawless.
​The Flavor Burst: The penne holds the cheese and BBQ sauce beautifully on the inside, filling every single bite with a burst of flavor. It's rich without feeling heavy.

Review! Asian Cafe – Fresh Flavors in La Junta

​If you are looking for high-quality Chinese cuisine right here in town, Asian Cafe is a must-visit. It’s clear the team takes immense pride in their operation, and it shows in the details.

​Steamed Pork Dumplings (9/10): These were the absolute highlight. Right out of the gate, the flavor is fresh and well-prepared. I’ve realized I’m a huge sucker for dumplings, and these did not disappoint. The texture is spot on, but the real winner is the pairing sauce it’s the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and savory that makes every bite incredible.

​Sesame Chicken (7/10): The flavor profile here is perfect. While the chicken was a little dry on the inside, the sauce is delicious and helps balance it out.

​The Difference Maker: Quality & Care
​One thing that truly stands out is the clean, fresh oil taste. In many places, this is overlooked, but here it shows a serious level of care for their operation. It’s a huge plus in my eyes.

​Customer Service (10/10): Prompt and straightforward. Even when they are busy, they maintain quality and care.
​Value: The price was about $20–$25 for this meal. Given the freshness and quality, it's very fair.

​Highly recommended for anyone in the Valley looking for a meal that melts in your mouth. I’ll definitely be back for more of those dumplings!

🚨 Local Business Spotlight: Candy Girl Co 🚨
​If you haven’t stopped by Candy Girl yet, you are seriously missing out! From the second you walk in, you’re greeted by the smell of a fresh bakery and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail is immaculate from the sprinkles on the ceiling to the Hello Kitty photo-op wall and all the displays of her treats. 🎀✨

Now ​I am usually pretty cautious with cupcakes because they tend to give me a sugar headache from the first bite, but the Orange Dream Cupcake here was the most balanced treat I’ve had in years. I actually finished the whole thing with no headache that is an absolute plus for me! 🧁🙌

🍓 Fruity Pebbles Strawberry: 10/10 (So good it didn’t even make it to the pictures! Super fresh with a perfect texture.)

🥯 Cream Puff: 10/10 (Airy, fluffy, and absolutely packed with cream!)

🍇 Cotton Candy Candied Grapes: 10/10 (My first time trying these and I’m officially addicted. Perfect crunch and fresh!)

🍎 Apple Turnover: 10/10 (Flaky, buttery, and not overly sweet. Absolutely savory.)

I spent about $40 total for this haul, which is great for the quality you’re getting. It’s incredible to think a 16-year-old is the heart and soul behind these creations. You can really tell she puts everything into her work! 🚀
​Small Critiques: I'd love to see prices clearly labeled so customers can track their total before heading to the counter. There was also a tiny slip-up on my coffee order during a busy moment, but these are small things that I know this business can rise above as they grow! 📈

A Solid Local Stop with 10/10 Service
​If you’re driving through Rocky Ford on Highway 50, you’ve probably seen the green trailer. I finally stopped by to check out Boss Dawgs and Steaks, and here is the honest breakdown!

​Category Ratings
​Customer Service: 10/10
Phenomenal. Very friendly, professional, and communicative. I originally ordered provolone, but once they became aware of a change needed, they were upfront immediately. I went with pepper jack instead, and the transparency was top-tier.

​Portion Size & Value: 9/10
The meal was $12 plus tax, and the portions are generous. You’re getting a lot of food for your money—you definitely won’t leave hungry.

​Cleanliness & Quality: 9/10
You can tell they take pride in their equipment. The oil used for the fries is clean, which is a rare find these days and makes a huge difference in the taste.

​Food (Overall): 8.5/10
A quality, honest meal that I'd definitely go back for.

​The Sandwich:
The flavor is definitely there. One thing I really appreciated was the bread it stayed firm on the sides and top, but the bottom was soaked in the juices. It almost reminded me of a French dip, which I absolutely love. My only takeaway was adding a little garlic salt to taste, but I’d rather add seasoning than not be able to take it away.

​The Fries:
These are fresh and cooked in clean oil. They don’t have a crunch to them, but honestly, I almost prefer them that way. Just like the sandwich, I added a little salt to suit my preference, but the base quality is high.
