Hack: before deciding you need a full rebrand, figure out what’s actually creating friction.

Is the visual identity outdated?
Is the messaging unclear?
Has the business changed while the brand hasn’t?
Are customers confused about what you offer?
Or are you simply tired of looking at it?

Those are very different problems.

Figure out what isn’t working before deciding how much needs to change.

In honor of the Ragin’ Cajuns’ Football season opener, we’re looking back at UL Fan Day.

A few weeks ago, we spent the day alongside Ragin Review, capturing some of the people, energy, and community that makes Cajuns sports what they are.

Ragin’ Review has built something special around a shared love of UL athletics, and we’re excited to see what they continue building from here.

Football is back, and there’s only one thing left to say… Geaux Cajuns! 🤟🌶️

Hot take: Posting less can create better content.

Not because consistency doesn’t matter, but because frequency alone does not make a message useful. A little more time to consider the audience, purpose, and timing can make one thoughtful post more effective than several created simply to fill the calendar.

Post consistently.

But give the thinking just as much attention as the posting.

Part of strategy is deciding what deserves attention.

Before adding another idea, platform, deliverable, or direction, we ask:

Does it support the goal?
Is it useful to the audience?
Can it be done well with the time and resources available?

A good idea can still be the wrong choice for the moment.

Knowing what not to do helps protect the work that matters most.

The strongest work tends to feel clear because someone took the time to consider what belonged, what didn’t, and how every piece needed to function together.

Simplicity is not the absence of thought.

It is often the result of it.

Social monitoring gives you the chance to respond instead of simply react.

Comments, messages, and reviews can carry useful context—especially when patterns start to appear.

Taking a moment to understand what someone is actually asking, feeling, or trying to communicate often leads to a better response.

Being timely matters.

So does being thoughtful.

Hack: Look at the last 10 posts you saved.

Pay attention to what they have in common.

The tone.
The layout.
The pacing.
The type of information being shared.

What you consistently save can tell you a lot about what naturally holds your attention—and may offer useful direction for your own content.

A finished design may feel simple, but the decisions behind it rarely are.

What needs emphasis?
What can be removed?
Where should the eye go first?
How will the design be used?

The final piece is only what you see.

The thinking behind it is what makes it work.

Some of the most useful parts of creative work are also the least exciting.

In Adobe Illustrator, we build templates for the pieces we know we’ll create again. The setup takes time, but once it’s there, future work moves faster and stays more consistent.

Good systems may not be the most interesting part of the process.
But they create more room for the interesting work.
