Now that we're officially in hurricane season, emergency managers in coastal states are on high alert, ready to put their plans into action if they find their town in the path of a storm. Much of their work is done long before June 1, though, with planning and training, as well as communicating with the people who live in their communities. A big part of that messaging is to inform residents how to prepare for a storm, and what to do during and after the event. In this blog post, we've outlined some of the key communication tactics that should be considered.
