Even though Paul Claps left KC to start his own business this past year he still was an integral part of its success.
KC it's employees, customers, vendors and friends will all miss Paul G. Claps, of Algonquin, IL, as he passed away suddenly on January 11, 2021, at the age of 52.
Paul was born on April 10, 1968, in Chicago, IL, to Vincent and Mary Claps. He received an athletic scholarship to play college football at Northwest Missouri State University. Paul was very successful in business and owned and operated his own restaurant. This year during the pandemic, he sought donations to make & deliver meals to front-line workers.
Paul will be most remembered for his huge heart, generous spirit, and larger-than-life personality. He enjoyed cars, country music, cooking, and traveling. Most of all, he was a fiercely loyal son and father. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Ben; his mother, Mary (Bob) Claps; his siblings, Laury (Bill) Karwoski, Vincent (Lisa) Claps, Phil (Kelli) Claps, Mary Kay (Kevin) Horney, Patty (Rick) Creager, and Janice Claps; his step-children, Connor and Alex; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14th, 2021, from 4-8pm at DeFiore Funeral Home (10763 Dundee Road, Huntley). A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Friday, January 15th, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church (10307 Dundee Road, Huntley). Burial will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
