On 8/1/88 I started KC Printing in my parents basement in Palatine, Illinois. It was scary time and it required a lot of learning on the job. Yet it was a great ride which has had its ups and downs, but along the way I was blessed to meet some great people, customers, employees and vendors. Now after 33 years, as of 8/1/21 I have retired from KC Printing. As for KC Printing it has merged with State Graphics out of Wheeling, IL. Bob Schroeder is the new President of KC and he comes with a wealth of experience. He has kept my entire staff and will be keeping the name and location as is. I wish them well and will help them in any way I can. As for all the well wishers who took the time to say Happy Anniversary - I thank you for that! I am grateful to all my customers and their loyalty, my vendors for the great service, and my employees who were the backbone of KC Printing. With out them I would have never made it 33 years.

Even though Paul Claps left KC to start his own business this past year he still was an integral part of its success.

KC it's employees, customers, vendors and friends will all miss Paul G. Claps, of Algonquin, IL, as he passed away suddenly on January 11, 2021, at the age of 52.
Paul was born on April 10, 1968, in Chicago, IL, to Vincent and Mary Claps. He received an athletic scholarship to play college football at Northwest Missouri State University. Paul was very successful in business and owned and operated his own restaurant. This year during the pandemic, he sought donations to make & deliver meals to front-line workers.
Paul will be most remembered for his huge heart, generous spirit, and larger-than-life personality. He enjoyed cars, country music, cooking, and traveling. Most of all, he was a fiercely loyal son and father. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Ben; his mother, Mary (Bob) Claps; his siblings, Laury (Bill) Karwoski, Vincent (Lisa) Claps, Phil (Kelli) Claps, Mary Kay (Kevin) Horney, Patty (Rick) Creager, and Janice Claps; his step-children, Connor and Alex; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14th, 2021, from 4-8pm at DeFiore Funeral Home (10763 Dundee Road, Huntley). A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Friday, January 15th, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church (10307 Dundee Road, Huntley). Burial will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Animal Almost Home Foundation or St. Mary Church. For further information please call the funeral home at 847-515-8772. Online condolences may be directed to www.defiorefuneral.com.
